Cochrane & Area Humane Society Meet your new best friend at the Cochrane & Area Humane Society! Dogs receive training and behaviour assistance to make them good canine citizens.

The Cochrane & Area Humane Society provides food, shelter, medical care and the opportunity for adoption for unwanted, surrendered, lost and unclaimed animals, while promoting responsible pet ownership through educational programs, rural spay/neuter programs and public fundraising events. ry, permanent identification and the chance for adoption into a new home. Lost pets are reunited with their guardians and the Society creates humane education programs to promote responsible pet guardianship. Children participate in Day Camps and victims of domestic violence are helped through the Pet Safe Program. Each year thousands of people call or come through our doors to surrender, adopt, claim lost pets, volunteer, seek advice, training or assistance, utilize our resource centre, attend humane education programs or make donations. We take in approximately 1,100 animals every year and are happy that we are able to successfully place or return home over 90% of them.

🌲 Claire's Clearing
Perfect for curious pups! With logs, stumps, and tires for enrichment, there's plenty to explore, while the pergola offers a comfortable spot for humans to relax.

🍃 Murphy's Meadow
A natural playground featuring trees, shrubs, and rolling hills that invite dogs to sniff, roam, and discover.

🎾 Sadie's Nature Park
The best of both worlds! Enjoy wide-open spaces for epic fetch sessions, plus trails and shrubs for endless sniffing opportunities. Don't forget to stop by the hilltop bench and take in the view.

🐕 Abbie's Acres
A cozy space designed with smaller pups in mind, giving them plenty of room to run, play, and enjoy off-leash freedom.

Jack Sparrow has found his crew! 🏴‍☠️❤️

Now known as Kuma, this happy pup is settling into his new home and loving every minute of it. From exploring his new world to sampling anything he can get his paws on, Kuma is fully embracing family life. He's also taking notes from his big brother and learning the ropes along the way!
