The Northumberland Humane Society endeavors to eliminate cruelty and over-population and we support the principle that no person has the right to cause pain or suffering to a living creature.

The Northumberland Humane Society is currently seeking dedicated, compassionate, and responsible individuals to join our team as Animal Care Attendants.

🐶 Full-Time and Weekend Positions Available 🐱

Qualifications:
✔ Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
✔ Valid driver's license
✔ Previous animal care experience
✔ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
✔ Comfortable handling animals of various sizes, breeds, and temperaments
✔ Strong teamwork and communication skills
✔ A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being

As an Animal Care Attendant, you will play a vital role in providing daily care, enrichment, cleaning, feeding, and monitoring of the animals in our shelter while helping them on their journey to finding loving homes.

WE WILL BE CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC MAY 30th + 31st

Due to the overwhelming number of kittens and cats arriving into our care over the past 48 hours, the Northumberland Humane Society Shelter will be closed to the public this weekend.

In just two days, we have taken in dozens of vulnerable kittens in urgent need of medical attention, bottle feeding, monitoring, and around-the-clock care. Our team is working tirelessly to ensure each animal receives the treatment, comfort, and support they desperately need.

Closing to the public for the weekend will allow our staff and volunteers to focus all of their attention on these critical care cases and help stabilize the many sick and fragile kittens currently in our shelter.

We appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued support during this incredibly challenging time. Your compassion makes it possible for us to continue saving lives when animals need us most.

If you would like to help, donations of kitten food, kitten formula, heating pads,litter, and monetary contributions are always greatly appreciated.
