You wanted kittens?

WE. GOT. KITTENS.

The tiny potatoes have officially reached adoption age and are ready to find their forever homes! But here’s the thing… the kittens didn’t get the memo to stop arriving. We are officially in full on kitten overload!

Right now, we have:

🐾 45+ cats and kittens available for adoption right now
🐱 50+ more currently in foster care who will be joining them over the next few weeks

If you’ve been thinking about adding a cat to your family, there’s never been a better time to meet your match!

Please share this post, tell your friends, bring your family, and come meet your new best friend. Every adoption truly makes a difference.

The Cat Distribution System is working overtime… maybe it’s your turn!

Chatham-Kent, in partnership with the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority (LTVCA) is continuing to spread awareness throughout the municipality through signage showing where species-at-risk live along our municipal roadways and how public action can limit impacts on the animals during the breeding season and throughout the year.

More than 100 species listed as either endangered, threatened or of special concern on the provincial species-at-risk list have been identified within Chatham-Kent (including mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish and plants).

Turtles are particularly at risk of danger from traffic as they cross roadways and occasionally nest along road shoulders. Seven of Ontario’s eight species-at-risk turtles can be found in Chatham-Kent.

Other reptiles, such as snakes, suffer a similar fate, especially in areas around wetlands like Erieau, Mitchell's Bay, Prairie Siding and Shrewsbury.

The LTVCA has collaborated with DFO (Department of Fisheries and Oceans) and is targeting Aquatic Species at Risk in our region through science, research and field data to mitigate and naturally restore areas that have species-at-risk present.

🐾 Still waiting... and still deserving. 🐾

Pringle has been patiently waiting for her forever family, and we're hoping her people are out there reading this right now.

This gorgeous husky girl recently came heartbreakingly close to finding a home of her own, but unfortunately the placement wasn't the right fit and she found herself back at the shelter. Through it all, Pringle has remained the same wonderful dog we've always known.

Like many huskies, Pringle knows what she likes—and that includes being picky about her dog friends. If there is another dog in the home, they will need to come to the shelter to meet Pringle before any adoption takes place.

What Pringle really wants is someone willing to give her a chance. A cozy bed, a family to love, and a place where she finally belongs.

Let's help make sure this sweet girl's next home is her forever home.

Share Pringle's story and help her find the happy ending she's been waiting for.
