Pet and Wildlife Rescue P.A.W. Rescue helps local Chatham-Kent pets! We strive to promote compassion towards all animals. Pet and Wildlife Rescue (P.A.W.R.)

is a non-profit rescue organization operating out of Chatham-Kent Ontario. PAWR is dedicated to four primary objectives:

- Providing animal control for all of Chatham-Kent
- Re-homing local domestic animals who are homeless.
- Lowering the number of stray animals within the community.
- Ensuring orphaned and injured wildlife receive proper care, rehabilitation and reintroduction to the wild
- Educating the public and advocating on behalf of all animals.

🌙 Meet Luna – Sweet, Sassy, and Full of Personality! 🐾

Luna is a 3-year-old Pomeranian mix with a big personality packed into a little body. She’s sweet, funny, and full of life… until she decides she’s not 😉. Like the moon she’s named after, Luna has phases — most of them bright and lovely, but occasionally a little eclipsed 🌑. When she feels overwhelmed, stressed, or upset, she can get snappy 😬. Her foster mom is helping her work through this with training 📚, and she’s improving every day, but Luna will need a patient adopter who understands she might take some time to settle in.

Luna has been waiting patiently ⏳ for her perfect home — the one that will understand her quirks, love her through her moods, and let her personality blossom 💖.

Now, let’s talk about her favorite things:
🐕‍🦺 Walks – fastest way to win her heart ❤️
🐿 Barking at squirrels – pure joy
📺 Watching TV – yes, she’s an avid viewer

Our kitten room is bursting at the seams - we’re talking wall-to-wall cuties - and we need YOUR help to make some space!

From now until August 31st, all unfixed kittens (that’s kittens going home with a spay/neuter voucher - surgery fully covered by PAWR!) are HALF PRICE. Yep, just $80 to take home a tiny purr machine.

🚀🐾 “Help me, future human… you’re my only hope!” 🐾🚀

Hi, I’m Jedi — 9-month-old German Shepherd Padawan, guardian of the snacks 🍪, defender of belly rubs 💖, and wielder of The Zoomies. I’m still in training, but already strong in the ways of fun. ✨

I can sit, shake, and use The Force (okay, it’s really just my puppy eyes 🥺✨) to get extra treats from even the toughest Jedi Masters. I’m a goofy, loyal co-pilot who wants in on everything — walks 🚶‍♂️, hikes 🥾, car rides 🚗, and daring missions to rescue tennis balls 🎾 trapped under the couch.

🪐 Stats from the Jedi Council:
✅ Dog-friendly — I love playing with my fellow rebels 🐶
🚫 Cats? Yeah… let’s just say they awaken my inner Sith Lord 😈🐱💨
✅ Great with older kids — especially if they share snacks 🍿
✅ Quick learner with a big brain — future Jedi Master material 🧠✨

What I’m searching for is an active home ready for adventures across the galaxy (or at least across the neighborhood). Take me hiking? YES, Master. Road trips? Punch it, Chewie. Guard the yard from squirrels? I’ll do it faster than you can say “It’s a trap!” 🐿️⚔️

🐾😄 Meet Eva — The Smile Queen! 😄🐾

Hi, I’m Eva — a 2-year-old mixed-breed sweetheart with a smile so bright it could melt a popsicle in January 🍦❄️➡️💧. I’ve got the perfect amount of pep in my step — not a couch potato 🥔, but not a Category 5 Zoomie Tornado either 🌪️.

When it comes to other dogs… well… let’s just say I’m a bit of an extra spicy meatball 🌶️🍝 during introductions. I’m working on my “cool girl” greetings 😎, but for now, I’d do best as your one-and-only… or maybe with one calm, patient doggy roommate who won’t mind showing me the ropes. 🐶

🚫🐱 Cats? Yeah… hard pass. Let’s just not.
🎾🧸 Toys? YES. ALL OF THEM. I’m basically a professional squeaky toy enthusiast, and I take my job very seriously.

🎉🐾 KANE IS HOME! 🐾🎉

Our big, goofy cuddle monster Kane has officially traded in shelter life for a forever home — and just LOOK at that smile! 😍

Today, Kane trotted out those same doors with the biggest smile (and tail wags that could cause a small breeze) because he found his forever family! 🐾 Not only does he have amazing humans to spoil him, but he also gained a four-legged sibling to share toys, naps, and adventures with.

Kane’s days will now be filled with car rides, belly rubs, and all the love a dog could ever dream of. We’re so happy for you, buddy — you deserve every bit of this joy. 🥹💙

🐹💔 It’s us… Florence and Lima. 💔🐹

We’ve been here since January. That’s more than half a year of waiting. More than 200 days of watching other animals find their families, while we stay behind.

We don’t understand why no one picks us.

We’re not loud or flashy. We’re quiet girls — gentle, a little shy at first, but so full of love if you just give us a chance. We snuggle close, we share our snacks, and we always have each other… but we still dream about having you.

A real home. Our own cozy corner. Someone to say, “These two — they’re mine.”

Every time the door opens, we wonder if it’s finally our turn. Every time someone walks by our enclosure, we get a tiny flicker of hope. And every time they keep walking… it fades a little more.

We’re starting to wonder if anyone will ever choose us.

But we’re still here. Still waiting. Still hoping that maybe… just maybe… the right person will read this and see us.

Please. We’ve waited so long. Take us home. 💔

Age: Somewhere between 15 and 20 (basically a senior citizen in snake years, but don’t tell him that)
Vibe: Skittish at first, chill once held, extremely food-motivated

Slim Jim is the perfect example of “don’t judge a snake by his slither!” While he can be a little skittish at first (he’s got that classic noodle nervousness), once he’s in your hands, he settles right in like the long, scaly spaghetti friend he is. 🍝💕

He’s been around the block a few times, so he’s pretty chill once he knows you’re not a threat (or a snack). And speaking of snacks—Slim Jim has an excellent appetite. Mealtime is never a struggle with this guy!

If you're looking for a low-maintenance, experienced reptilian companion who’s mastered the fine art of loafing in style, Slim Jim just might be your guy. He’s looking for a home where he can retire in comfort and receive all the cozy hides and tasty meals a gentleman like him deserves. 🐁✨

During kitten season, our shelter is officially staffed by tiny purring supervisors. 🍼🐾

Littles are pouring in faster than we can say, “Please stop spilling your water dish!”

Take these two little jellybeans, for example - found at just 3 days old, eyes shut, umbilical cords still attached, and squeaking like tiny alarm clocks. Now? They’re thriving in foster care, getting chunky, and already plotting world domination, milk mustache and all.

Thanks to the incredible support from our community, we’re able to keep the kitten milk flowing, the heating pads warm, and the toys rolling under the couch where they belong.

We have kittens ready for adoption right now, and even more adorable fluffballs on the way!
