🐾 Leo's Spa Day... With a Twist! 🐾
Our good boy Leo the Corgi had to get a little patch of fur shaved under his front leg today. Why? He developed a hotspot—a common skin condition in dogs that can appear suddenly and become very uncomfortable if left untreated.
Hotspots (also called acute moist dermatitis) are irritated areas of skin that can be caused by things like allergies, moisture trapped in the coat, insect bites, excessive licking, or minor skin irritation. They often become red, inflamed, and itchy, leading dogs to lick or scratch them even more.
✂️ Shaving the fur around a hotspot helps:
✅ Increase airflow to the affected skin
✅ Keep the area clean and dry
✅ Allow medications to reach the skin more effectively
✅ Speed up healing
Leo was incredibly brave during his trim and earned extra "good boy" points today. ❤️ While the shaved patch may look a little funny, it's an important part of helping him feel better and get back to his corgi adventures.
If you notice your dog constantly licking, chewing, or scratching one spot, it's worth having it checked out before a small irritation turns into a hotspot.

🐱✂️ Sometimes a spa day means a fresh new haircut! ✂️🐱

This sweet kitty came in to see Lily for some help with painful mats on her back. Mats may look harmless, but they can pull tightly on the skin, causing discomfort, irritation, and even skin problems underneath. 💔

To help her feel comfortable again, Lily carefully shaved out the mats, gave her a soothing bath with medicated shampoo for her dandruff and oily skin, and now she’s on her way to feeling much better! 💙

The good news? Hair grows back, but comfort comes first! Regular grooming is so important for cats, especially long-haired kitties, to help prevent painful matting and keep their skin and coat healthy. 🐾

Dressed in what can only be described as the finest turtleneck couture, Miso was perched on his throne today looking absolutely majestic. Honestly, we’re not sure if we should pet him… or bow. 😹

With his royal pose, serious stare, and cozy little sweater look, Miso was serving “cat king energy” all day long. We’re just lucky to be in his kingdom. 💙

She greets clients, supervises the team, accepts unlimited compliments, and most importantly… takes treats as payment only 🍪💅

This girl hopped into the cart like she had been preparing for this moment her entire life 😂 No embarrassment. No hesitation. Just pure confidence while being rolled past flowers and mulch like royalty.

Customers came for plants… but stayed for Posie 💕🌿

Dora the puppy came to visit us, and honestly… we’re starting to suspect she might actually be part human 🤔😂

The facial expressions? Human.
The dramatic eye contact? Human.
The way she wanted all the attention? DEFINITELY human. 😅🐾

Dora had the whole team laughing during her visit and soaked up every bit of attention like the little superstar she is ❤️

Puppy visits are so important for helping young pets build confidence at the clinic. . Plus… we get adorable moments like this!

Piper came in for her annual visit today, and luckily her big sister Kora was there to show her the ropes 🐾💕

From checking in at reception to getting lots of treats and cuddles from the team, Kora made sure Piper knew the clinic wasn’t so scary after all! Big sister duties = accomplished ✅

Annual wellness visits are an important part of keeping your pets happy and healthy. These visits allow us to monitor growth, discuss nutrition and behaviour, keep vaccines up to date, and catch any health concerns early.

Piper was brave, Kora was supportive, and both girls earned extra treats for being such good patients
