Happy International Blind Dog Day!

Today, we celebrate our incredible veterinary assistant, Angela, who is not only a dedicated team member but also the official 'seeing eye human' for her two amazing Labs living with progressive retinal atrophy, and who are both blind, but with Angela by their side, they navigate the world with confidence and love. This is a genetic disorder that affects the retina, the light-sensitive layer at the back of the eye. In dogs, PRA leads to the gradual degeneration of the photoreceptor cells, which leads to vision loss and blindness over time. There is no cure for PRA, but genetic testing is available to eliminate the incidence of affected dogs.

This day helps raise awareness for the unique bond between blind pets and their humans! 🐕✨ Thank you, Angela, for being such a tremendous advocate for these special pups!
