Today we celebrate amazing rescue dogs like Leeta, who belongs to one of our RVTs. Nine years ago, Leeta was adopted from the Victoria Humane Society. She just marked her “gotcha day” and turned ten this year.

We’ve been enjoying some fantastic, warm weather lately, and our pets are loving it too! But as temperatures rise, it’s important for all pet owners to remember sun and heat safety.

Just like us, our furry friends can be affected by the heat. Make sure your pets have plenty of fresh water, access to shade, and avoid strenuous activity during the hottest parts of the day. Never leave pets in parked cars, even for a few minutes!

Tick season is in full swing on the North Island, and our veterinary hospital has already seen a good volume of ticks this year. Protecting your pet is more important than ever!
