WOW! I was in awe today! Check out this amazing tree in Boca Raton, FL! I wasn’t sure what I was seeing at first. Roots coming from the branches?! Huh? Lol

Roots grow down from branches into the soil to act like extra trunks, supporting huge wide branches.

The Banyan Tree is a large fig tree native to the Indian subcontinent, known for its distinctive aerial roots that grow down from branches to form new trunks, creating a vast, multi-stemmed canopy.

Sacred symbol: Hindus and Buddhists view the tree as holy; Buddha is said to have found peace and enlightenment sitting under one.

National tree: It is the national tree of India, representing long life, strength, and eternal life.

Welcome to the world baby bird 😍 This will be the third clutch from the robins this year. So fun and interesting to have a front row seat for their development. I love the baby feather tuffs and it is a special day when their eyes open. In 2 weeks they will fly out of the nest 🪺

La Cloche Silhouette (counter clockwise) is the most challenging backpacking I have done so far! Often steep and rugged terrain that requires a strategy creates an exciting adventure. 6 hours of backpacking in heat and humidity was all worth it for our time at Proulx Lake. I could not get over the colour of the water!!!!! Highlights also included encountering a bear beside our campsite and making friends with a snapping turtle!
