Boots is a 1-year-3-month-old neutered male Shepherd/Boxer/Pit mix (~55 lbs) who is affectionate, loyal, and full of potential. He’s a young dog who hasn’t had all of his needs met and is now looking for a calm, patient home where he can get the structure, enrichment, and guidance he needs to thrive.

💛 About Boots
Boots is a loving, people-oriented dog who enjoys being close to his family just as much as he enjoys outdoor playtime. He’s smart, eager to bond, and responds well to consistent, positive guidance. With the right support, he’s ready to continue building his confidence and skills.

🐶 What He’s Like
Boots is gentle, affectionate, and loyal. He enjoys companionship and attention from his family and does best when he’s included in daily life. He has a good basic training foundation and is a quick learner who responds well to consistency and encouragement.

⚠️ A Few Important Notes
Boots does have a strong prey drive toward chickens and cannot live with poultry. He will need to be safely managed or leashed outdoors. While he has coexisted with cats in the home before, slow and careful introductions are important in any new situation. He has no history of aggression toward people.

Boots would do best in a calm, stable home with a predictable routine and people who are around often. He’ll need daily exercise, mental enrichment, and patient, positive reinforcement training as he learns about the world beyond his home environment. Gradual introductions to new places, people, and experiences will help him continue to grow in confidence.

🐾 Wellness Wednesday: Meet Mouse 🐾

Mouse is 5 years and 7 months old and arrived in our care just over two weeks ago.
At her intake examination, Mouse was found to be carrying a little extra weight and had moderate ear infections in both ears, which are now being treated. She also had some mild skin irritation around her v***a that is being managed with daily cleaning and care.
During her examination, our veterinary team detected a quiet heart murmur. Heart murmurs can have many causes, and we will continue to monitor her health while educating future caregivers about potential options for further assessment if needed.

One of Mouse's most distinctive features is her adorable curled ears. This unique ear shape is a genetic trait that makes her extra special. While her ears are certainly cute, they may require a little extra attention throughout her life. Her future family will simply need to keep an eye on them and clean them periodically if they become dirty to help keep them healthy and comfortable.

Despite having a few medical concerns to address, Mouse has been taking everything in stride. Like many animals who come through our doors, she reminds us that wellness is a journey. Small treatments, daily care, and lots of patience can make a big difference in helping animals feel their best.

We're happy to be part of Mouse's story and look forward to supporting her continued health and well-being. 💜

While she may be a little shy when meeting new people, Honey has a friendly, gentle personality that shines through once she feels safe and comfortable. She'll need a family willing to give her the time, patience, and understanding she deserves as she settles into her new surroundings.
