Saving Grace Animal Society operates a shelter facility in Alix AB taking in dogs & cats from many situations. We frequently see the worst of the worst in terms of animals needing medical care due to neglect and we always want to be able to help those animals have the best chance at the life they deserve. We also operate a Farm Animal Sanctuary outside of Stettler AB ! Saving Grace is here 24/7 - 365 days a year to take the call of animals in need.

✨ Transformation Tuesday ✨

Remember Ayla?

We had gotten a call about a sweet girl that showed up at a farmers home with a rope around her neck and in horrific condition. We had no idea how she got this way but we were not just going to leave her.

Her infections were so bad she sadly lost one of her eyes but this does not slow her down in the least!

With lots of love and vet care she is finally ready to find her forever home.

Ayla is one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet! All she wants to do is be near you and give you kisses!😘 And she loves other dog friends!

Ayla is 2 years old, spayed vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed.

💦 Water Rescue 💦

No job too big for our team!

A stray was brought to the shelter and got away from the individual. Our team attempted to catch him through the streets of Alix with no luck!

Out of fear this poor stray dove into the lake. After only minutes he was struggling to keep his head above water and was too panicked to find shore.

Attempting to reach him from shore was unsuccessful due to thick mud. One of our team members was quick to think of borrowing a kayak from a friendly neighbour (thank you Gary!).

She bravely kayaked out to the middle of the lake and was able to leash him and bring him back to shore.

After this awesome rescue mission this boy was so happy to come back to the shelter and relax and have lots of snuggles until animal services could pick him up.

We are so proud of our amazing team.

🚨🚨 HOPE FOR HONEY!! 🚨🚨

We sound like a broken record, we know… The emergency calls continue to pour in - and all rescues are FULL!!

We NEED HELP! 🆘

This is a sweet young pup, we named Honey. She was hit by a car and shattered her pelvis AND femur.
She is currently at the emergency clinic where they have quoted us $6000 to repair. 😓

She is still so young, and we want to see her have the full life ahead she deserves!! 🙏
