Do you ever wonder what's happening after your drop your pet off for a procedure? 🤔

Lido came in a couple weeks ago for his dental procedure. Our Registered Vet Technicians Brisa and Megan got him prepped and give him lots of cuddles after he woke up from anesthesia. 🦷 💙

Our team takes their patient's comfort very seriously.

These three went for a cool down in a local lake and came out with some new unwanted friends 🐜

Lice are tiny, wingless parasite that live on the skin and hair of dogs and cats 🐈🐕

👉 They are species-specific. Cat lice only infest cats, and dog lice only infest dogs.
👉 They do not spread between dogs, cats or people.

They feed on skin debris or blood and can cause itching, scratching, a dry or unkempt coat, hair loss and skin irritation.

Treatment typically involves veterinarian-recommended parasite control products, along with washing bedding and grooming tools to prevent re-infestation.

Prompt treatment usually resolves the issue and helps keep pets comfortable and healthy!

Enjoy your summer with your pets, but always do a parasite check after being outdoors & call your vet if you think you've found something.

Did you know your pet can simply stop by for a Happy Visit?

These quick visits are designed to help pets build positive associations with the clinic by:

🐾 Meeting our team
🦴 Enjoying a few treats
🏥 Exploring the clinic
❤️ Getting lots of gentle attention

They're especially helpful for puppies, rescue dogs, or any pet that feels anxious about veterinary visits.

Sometimes the best medicine is simply making the next visit a little less scary.

🌊🐶 Swimming is always better with a buddy.

(Especially when your buddy is helping carry the stick. 😄)

Whether your dog is spending summer at the lake, the river, or the pool, a little preparation can help keep every adventure safe and fun.

Here are a few of our favourite swimming safety reminders:

🦺 Use a properly fitted life jacket if your dog is swimming in deep water, on a boat, or they're still building confidence in the water.

🎾 Take breaks. Even strong swimmers can become tired faster than you think.

💧 Discourage drinking lake or pool water. Too much can upset their stomach.

🌡️ Rinse off after swimming, especially after lakes or pools, and dry those ears well to help prevent skin and ear irritation or lake lice.

👀 Never leave them unsupervised. Even dogs that love the water can get into trouble.

Most importantly...
❤️ Know your dog's limits. Not every dog is a natural swimmer, and that's perfectly okay.
