🐶 Puppy Yoga at Sumas Mountain Wellness 🐾
This summer, we’re excited to offer our Yoga studio and Dachshund loving community a chance to meet and spend time with our current litter of puppies during our Puppy Yoga classes!
While there will be some gentle movement and stretching, these classes are really about creating a calm, peaceful environment where people can connect with the puppies, enjoy some snuggles, take photos, and simply spend time together.
As the owners of a boutique yoga studio on our property, we felt that a gentle puppy yoga class was the best way to create a respectful and relaxing environment for both our guests and the puppies. Rather than having people moving around the room or gathering around the puppies, participants will remain primarily on their mats, allowing the puppies the freedom to approach people on their own terms.
This setup helps create a peaceful atmosphere where the puppies can explore, play, rest, and interact naturally without feeling overwhelmed. The goal is not to encourage constant handling or interaction, but to provide a relaxed space where people can enjoy being in the puppies’ presence while respecting their individual personalities and comfort levels.
A few things that are important to us:
🐾 The puppies’ wellbeing is our top priority.
🐾 Class sizes are intentionally kept small so the room never feels crowded and the puppies always have space to move away, rest, or explore as they choose.
🐾 Music will be kept quiet and calming to avoid overstimulation.
🐾 The puppies will interact entirely at their own pace. If they’d rather nap, play with each other, or observe from a distance, that’s exactly what they’ll be encouraged to do.
🐾 There will be opportunities for photos, cuddles, and puppy visits, but interactions will always be guided by the puppies’ comfort level.
🐾 All puppies in this litter already have loving homes waiting for them. This event is not intended to promote puppy sales, but rather to allow members of our community, many of whom have followed our dogs and litters over the years, an opportunity to meet them before they head off to their families.
We know some people may have concerns about puppy events, and we completely understand that. That’s why these classes have been designed around the puppies’ needs first and foremost. Their comfort, safety, rest, and ability to choose their interactions will always come before the experience of our guests.
For those who have followed our dogs, supported our breeding program, or simply love puppies, we thought this would be a beautiful way to share a little bit of joy with our community before these little ones head off to their new homes.
