River is a sweet silver tabby who grew up in Bowning with her sisters, other cats and some dogs.
She is the first in her group to purr, even when a bit groggy from going to the vet.

Adopting a cat or kitten isn't the only way to support Yass Valley Cat Rescue. You can donate to support our work, and what better time to do this than now with the end of the financial year approaching on 30 June?

Yass Valley Cat Rescue is an approved Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR). This means all donations of $2 or more are now tax deductible in Australia.

We are a small, volunteer-run rescue so every single dollar donated helps us continue rescuing, caring for and rehoming vulnerable cats and kittens. We rely entirely on the support of our community to keep going.

Even though we have had lots of adoptions lately ❤️ please don’t be thinking there are no lovely kittens left without homes - once we have microchip numbers and genders properly sorted out we will introduce them all properly 🙂

What an amazing day yesterday was! Nine kittens found their forever homes in the lead up to and through the Adoption Day, with most spending last night safe and snug with their new families. Nine kittens, nine new lives. ❤️ It makes our hearts warm to know that the kittens we have rescued and cared for will enjoy a healthy life in a safe, loving, and permanent home.

We would like to say a big thank you to Petstock Belconnen for hosting our Adoption Day yesterday, and to the wonderful PetStock staff for being so helpful throughout the day. Thank you also to everyone who came along to meet the kittens, chat with us, or support our rescue by purchasing candles, raffle tickets or knitted goods . And most importantly, thank you to the people who adopted a kitten (or two!) and opened their hearts and homes to them. 🙏 ❤️

A special thank you also goes to our foster carers for bringing the kittens along and helping them shine on the day. And of course, thank you to the kittens themselves for being so well-behaved, brave and patient while meeting lots of new people (and dogs) in a very unfamiliar environment!

Thank you for helping us give cats and kittens a second chance at a happy life.

Only 1 sleep to go ....till our Adoption Day!

Whether you're looking to adopt or just indulge in some feline cuteness, come along to the Yass Valley Cat Rescue Adoption Day this coming Saturday.

Although kitten season is nearly over for the year, we have a number of gorgeous 'cattens' (in between a cat & a kitten) available for adoption. Come along on Saturday to meet some of our lovely 4-5 month old cattens in purr-son - including Monet, Shadowfax, Betty Boo, Bruce, Columbine, Rocket, Smudge & Princess *!
