This is one of the primary reasons why Woombye Pest Management recommends annual termite inspections and maintaining an up-to-date termite management system around your house to mitigate the risk of termite infestation. We recently worked with a client, Peter, who owns a couple of properties that we service. Peter suspected termite activity, and upon investigation, we discovered active mud leads on the exterior of the property, as well as active termite infestations in two trees in the backyard and a large nest. We performed a treatment to slow down the termite activity until we could schedule a comprehensive inspection at a mutually convenient time. Upon further inspection, Peter found evidence of termite activity in the roof void, although it appeared to be inactive, as well as damage to a window frame, which was also inactive. We then provided a quote for a termite baiting system to be installed around the perimeter of the house. If you haven’t had a termite inspection in a while, now is the time to schedule one, especially with the ongoing rain and warmer weather, which will increase termite activity.
