⚠️ AVIAN INFLUENZA (BIRD FLU) AWARENESS ⚠️
Avian influenza (bird flu) is a viral disease that primarily affects wild birds and poultry. While the risk to most household pets remains low, it's important to stay informed and take simple precautions to help protect your birds and pets.
🔸 Avoid contact with sick or deceased birds
🔸 Keep pet birds away from wild birds and their droppings
🔸 Wash your hands thoroughly after handling birds, eggs, or bird equipment
🔸 Monitor birds for signs of illness, including lethargy, respiratory symptoms, swelling around the head or eyes, or sudden death

If you are bringing an unwell bird (pet or wildlife) to the clinic, please remain in your vehicle upon arrival and call our reception team on (03) 5427 9200 .
A staff member will advise you on the next steps.
