An Easter Miracle! Look who came hopping into our pound, and no we aren’t talking about the fluffy guy with the big ears! 🐰
Way back in 2021, 10 year old 'Ming Mong', went missing in Inverloch whilst she was holidaying with her family. Her family was understandably distraught when their attempts to find her were unsuccessful and they had to return to Melbourne without their furry family member.
Fast forward to last Friday, when Bass Coast Shire Council’s Community Safety Team got a call to collect a contained cat. After scanning her microchip to see where she belongs, our officers were able to make contact with her long-lost owners.
Her owner was over the moon to hear that Ming Mong was alive and well! They immediately bundled the family in the car and made the long trek to collect her.
Thanks to Ming Mong’s family for highlighting the importance microchipping and keeping your details up to date. We are sure Ming Mong will be very happy to be back where she belongs! That Easter chocolate will be tasting so much sweeter now the family is complete again.
If you have recently moved or your contact details have changed, you can update your information on the microchip registry on the Central Animal Records website. Perhaps over the Easter break, you may find some extra time to get your pets microchipping details sorted!
