🚨 Parvo Cases on the Rise 🚨

Over the past month, we’ve unfortunately seen a significant increase in Parvovirus cases in our local community.

Parvo is preventable — but only through vaccination.

This disease is devastating, and it’s heartbreaking seeing so many dogs come through our clinic so unwell. Sadly, not all of them make it. Even with aggressive treatment, there is no guarantee of survival, especially in unvaccinated dogs or when it’s caught too late.

A common misconception is how Parvo spreads. Your dog doesn’t need to leave your yard to be at risk — the virus can easily be brought home on shoes, clothing, or other surfaces.

💉 The best protection is up-to-date vaccinations:
• Puppy vaccinations at 8, 12 & 16 weeks
• Annual vaccinations as an adult

⚠️ Know the signs and act fast:
• Vomiting or diarrhoea (often with a strong smell or blood)
• Lethargy
• Loss of appetite

If your dog shows any of these signs, seek veterinary care immediately.

DOG THERAPY VISIT TO YELTANA

Yesterday morning, 17/4/26, the Dog Therapy Team had a lovely visit with the residents and staff of Yeltana.

The visit was attended by a large number of residents, their family members and even some students on work experience who, by the way, fell in love with handsome Master Calvin!

It was a fantastic visit and the residents were very bright and bubbly and enjoyed the interactions with their four legged friends and their human handlers.

The obedience demonstration was a hit, as always, and the visit concluded with Cooper showing off his tricks and finding his Dad’s keys!

We were also pleased to welcome 2 new pairs to the team, Judy & Cassie and Julie & Lulu. All did a good job on their very first visit.

We thank the lovely staff and residents of Yeltana for welcoming us, once again, and look forward to our next visit.

Added today are a few different photos of our attendees: Michelle & Sophie, Judy & Cassie, Pam & Lotte, Cherilee & Calvin, Mick & Cooper, Graham & Lucy, Helen & Sheldon and Julie & Lulu (not pictured)

Thanks to our amazing team for another successful visit. 🧡🐶🖤
