If you said yes to all of the above, keep reading…

Condamine Vet Clinic is a friendly, low-drama, close-knit small animal clinic in Warwick, QLD. We’ve found a few great team members recently, but we are looking for one more part-time to full-time Vet Liason / Front of House All-Rounder to join our team.

Industry knowledge is preferred, but not essential – if you’re the right fit, we’ll provide the training.

• Someone who would love to hang out in a consult room, assisting our vets to be their best selves.
• Someone who is eager to learn.

What We Don’t Want:
• Someone just looking to “get a foot in the door” to become a vet nurse.

👂🐾 Not all ear infections are the same! 🐾👂

Allergies, yeast, bacteria, mites, even grass seeds – every case can be different.
That’s why we often check with cytology under the microscope 🧪 to find the cause.

❌ What worked last time may not work this time – which is why we can’t just re-dispense drops without seeing your pet.

📞 Book a check if your furry friend has itchy, smelly, or sore ears.

🐾🐱 Hyperthyroidism in Cats 🐱🐾

Hyperthyroidism is one of the most common health conditions we see in older cats. It happens when the thyroid gland produces too much thyroid hormone, which speeds up your cat’s metabolism.

👉 Signs to look out for:
🔹Increased appetite but weight loss
🔹Restlessness or hyperactivity
🔹Vomiting or diarrhoea
🔹Increased thirst and urination
🔹Poor coat condition

Left untreated, hyperthyroidism can put strain on the heart, kidneys, and overall wellbeing – but the good news is, with proper diagnosis and treatment, cats with hyperthyroidism can still live happy, healthy lives 💙

If your cat is showing any of these signs, especially if they’re over 8 years old, it’s important to book a vet check. Early detection makes all the difference 🐾

📞 Call us on 4667 1176 to book your cat’s health check today.

Wanted – A Fantastic, Experienced, Vet Nurse 🐾

Location: Warwick, QLD
Hours: 2–4 days/week (we’ll be flexible for the right person)
Start: ASAP (yesterday?)

• Are you a skilled vet nurse who’s tired of being a glorified cage cleaner?

• Do you love actually nursing – placing catheters, running bloods, monitoring anaesthetics, and the other fun hands-on stuff?

• Can you remain serene while the IV pumps are screeching in Morse code and a husky belts out its fifth encore of “Song of My People, Extended Edition”?

If you’re still nodding, keep reading…

Condamine Vet Clinic is a friendly, low-drama, close-knit small animal clinic in Warwick, QLD, and we’re on the hunt for an experienced vet nurse to join our team.

What We Want
• At least 12mths clinical experience – bonus points if you didn’t flee the country afterwards.
• A calm, confident presence who doesn’t falter in the heat of battle.
• A team player who knows when to fly solo and when to come back to the herd for a group huddle.
• Someone who loves animals, but also the people that belong to them.

What We Don’t Want
• Lone wolves who don’t play well with others
• Drama llamas 🦙 (they spit)
• Big roosters with puffed up egos
• Short-term strays

Bonus Points If
• You can keep a vet on track with nothing more than “The Eyebrow™.”
• You’ve previously discovered Schrödinger’s Nugget in your scrub top pocket (briefly, it was both chocolate and a mystery poo).
• You know the exact difference between “that smell is in the room” vs. “that smell is on me.”

At Condamine Vets, we believe that how we do the little things is how we do the big things.

👨‍👧‍👦🐾 Happy Father’s Day! 🐾👨‍👧‍👦

Today we’re celebrating all the amazing pet dads out there – the ones who throw the ball just one more time, go on endless walks, share the couch (and sometimes their dinner 😅), and give unconditional love to their furry kids.

Whether you’re a dad to two-legged, four-legged, or even feathered or scaled family members – we wish you a wonderful day filled with cuddles, paw shakes, and tail wags ❤

📷 Special mention to Damien, Dr Christine's husband - celebrating his first father's day this year 🥰

🐾👀 Mythbuster: Dogs can only see in black and white 👀🐾

❌ Not true!
While dogs don’t see the world in the same rainbow of colours that we do, they definitely don’t see in just black and white.

✅ Dogs are dichromatic, which means they see mainly blue and yellow hues. Reds and greens look more like shades of grey or brown to them.

So next time you’re choosing toys or bedding, keep in mind your pup is much more likely to spot a bright yellow ball than a red one in the grass! 🎾🐶

Dogs may not see every colour we do, but their vision is specially adapted for motion and low light – perfect for spotting that ball before you’ve even thrown it. 😉

🌸🐾 Spring is here… and so are the allergies! 🐾🌸

For pets, allergies often show up as itchy skin & ears (not sneezing like us!).
Think: scratching, licking, red skin, head shaking, or repeat ear infections 😬.

Don’t let allergies steal your pet’s springtime joy 🌼☀️ – we can help!

🧡🐾 Ginger Cat Appreciation Day 🐾🧡

Did you know ginger cats aren’t actually a breed, but a colour pattern? Their distinctive orange coats are the result of a special gene called the “O” gene, which produces the rich red/orange colouring.

A few fun facts about these fiery felines:
✨ Most ginger cats are male – around 80%!
✨ Their coats come in different patterns – classic swirls, stripes, spots, or ticked.
✨ Ginger cats have shown up in history and folklore all around the world – from ancient Egypt to being a favourite companion of sailors, who believed orange cats brought good luck at sea.
✨ Some of the most famous fictional cats are gingers too – think Garfield, Puss in Boots, and even Crookshanks from Harry Potter.

No matter their history, one thing is certain – ginger cats have a way of stealing hearts wherever they go 🐈💕.

📸 Today we’re celebrating with the aptly named Ginger, our tiny ginger kitten friend who’s all charm and cuteness!

Do you share your home with a ginger? Post their photo in the comments – we’d love to see your sunshine-coloured kitties! 🧡

🦷🐾 Is your pet in pain? 🐾🦷

Dogs and cats are experts at hiding discomfort – it’s in their nature. That means dental disease can go unnoticed for a long time, even when it’s painful.

Just because your pet is still eating and acting “normal” doesn’t mean they’re not hurting. Cats are especially good at masking pain, which is why dental problems in our feline friends often go undetected until they’re advanced.

Dental pain can quietly affect your pet’s whole body and quality of life.

The good news? With a professional assessment and dental procedure under an anaesthetic, we can treat disease, relieve pain, and help your pet feel like themselves again 🐶🐱❤️.

This August Dental Month, give your best friend the gift of pain free days.

📞 Call us on 4667 1176 to book a consult to discuss your pet's dental health.
