Our Emergency team at Geelong Animal Referral Services recently treated a case of tick paralysis referred by their local vet. What made this case particularly interesting was that the Wolf Hound hadn't travelled to any tick-prone areas.
As we see an increase in tick cases outside typical risk zones, itβs important to stay vigilant. Hereβs what you can do:

π¨ Signs of tick paralysis to watch for:
- Weakness or wobbliness in the back legs
- Difficulty standing or walking
- Vomiting or drooling
- Laboured breathing
- Loss of coordination
