My girls do Children’s university through their school.
Tonight we learnt about the Southern Brown Bandicoot.
These little guys are close to extinction.

Now i know we all love our kitty cats and want whats best for them, but we also need to remember they also love to hunt and kill our Wild life.

We need to protect our beautiful wildlife and our kitties as well from other dangers.

Please look into cat enclosures, you can make your own or order them through businesses who specialise in them.
Your cat will love it and you also know they themselves are safe from humans, cat fights, snakes, cars and you are also helping our Wildlife to keep safe.

Please do the right thing, and keep your kitty inside or in an enclosure.

Get on the bandi-wagon and celebrate the remarkable and endangered Southern Brown Bandicoot! These cute critters play a vital role in maintaining soil health...

UPDATE 30 JUNE 2025:
Virulent Feline Calicivirus VS-FCV

We are relieved to advise that Roseworthy Veterinary Hospital have notified all SA Vet Clinics that no new cases or concerns have been identified in regard to the highly contagious and virulent VS-FCV.

As per Roseworthy recommendations, and out of an abundance of caution and commitment to infection control, YP Vets had recently implemented separate quarantine feline exam areas, had strict ongoing disinfection and strict isolation/referral measures in place.

Now - with no new cases or concerns, and after Roseworthy’s consultation with relevant feline experts, we are confident in returning to our regular feline consulting and surgery - utilising our specific “feline only” cat consultation room, and our “kitty only” hospital ward.

Owners of pet cats are welcome to book a Kadina vet clinic tour of our cat friendly facilities - ring to book 8821 3350.

We still advise regular “cat flu” viruses including feline calicivirus are present in the stray and feral cat populations across Pirie and Yorke regions, so monitor your pets, avoid cats roaming and mixing with other cats unnecessarily, and ensure their vaccinations are up to date.
