Hi Barossa and beyond pet owners. I'm very excited to introduce my new business to you- Jim's Pet Patrol. I will be starting on the 12th September and am taking bookings now. I am extremely passionate about animals and their well-being and we have many of our own much loved critters at our Keyneton property. After talking with customers and clients over my many years with The Vet Clinic and For Pets Sake in Angaston, I realised that there was a real need for a service such as this. I'm more than happy to help with any pets, whether they be furred, feathered or scaly, four legged, two legged or have no legs at all

We visited the happy farm today to collect blood samples from mini goats for their annual JD and CAE testing.

So fortunate to still be able to do “large” animal work because I have supportive bosses at The Vet Clinic.

Officially a Barossan! I am going to start working full time at the Vet Clinic in Angaston Monday 25th of July. Same thorough approach and listening ears, with the backing of experienced vets and nurses!

Friends and referral from friends are still accepted on a case by case basis 😁❤️

Hello everyone!

Apologies I had been AWOL for a bit! I had a hectic month so far, selling my house in Wallaroo and purchasing another in the Barossa Valley.

I am proud to announce that I had accepted an offer to work full time at The Vet Clinic in Angaston! A very welcoming bunch of people who would make you and your pet feel at home (they have a coffee machine!!)

VaxVet will continue to run, however, I would only provide services to current clients and breeders. July will be equally hectic as I will be moving houses and starting my FT work, please bear with me if I take a long time to reply to messages.

Dr Veronica graduated from the University of Adelaide in February 2021. Prior to veterinary medicine, she dabbled in biochemistry, molecular biology, and neuroscience.

She is a border collie enthusiast! Being interested in many aspects of the breed, especially hereditary diseases. She is owned by four border collies, with whom she enjoys participating in herding and obedience classes. With her new ANKC registered border collie puppy, Nebula, she is planning to compete in conformation shows.

Dr Veronica loves all animals and strives to cuddle them all (if they let her)! She is already Peanut’s biggest fan!

Dr Veronica joins us all the way from the Yorke Peninsula, and is currently with us a
couple of days a week. She will be coming on board full time as soon as she sells her Yorke’s house and officially becomes a Barossan!

We are looking forward to it!

🐶 Breed identification 🦊

I recently had my girl Chelsea DNA tested by Orivet Genetic Pet Care. I chose the genopet 5.0 which also includes screening of all available/testable diseases and traits in their library. She’s roughly half labrador, quarter cattle dog, with some koolie and wire haired pointer type markers detected too. (I think it’s unlikely that she has Pointing Griffon in her).

🧬 Genetic diseases and traits

More importantly, she is clear of all disease mutations in Orivet library - she doesn’t even carry any! I tested her because I suspected she might be part labrador and I worried about heritable eye diseases that occur in the breed.

Traits - this is for fun only, she is a black dog, moderate shedding, she carries the mutations for chocolate and yellow colour.

Enquire if you would like your dog(s) tested! My prices include submission AND result interpretation, so you don’t have to sit down and read 35 pages of genetic report by yourself!
