Lollie had a meet-and-greet today and it looks like she may have found her perfect forever home. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who reached out and offered to give this beautiful girl a home. I truly appreciate all the interest and kind messages.

Our beautiful Lollie (5 years old) is still looking for a special forever home where she can enjoy the quieter side of life.

✔️ Vet work up to date
✔️ No heart murmurs
✔️ Dental work completed
✔️ Will be desexed next week
✔️ Sweet, affectionate Cavalier

Lollie would be happiest as an only dog. She isn’t interested in playing with younger dogs and would much rather have a calm, peaceful home where she can relax, be loved, and enjoy plenty of one-on-one attention.

She is nervous around young children, so a home without young kids is essential. We feel she would be best suited to a retired person, retired couple, or someone with a quiet lifestyle who is home often.

Ideally, we are looking for someone on the Gold Coast so we can meet in person and arrange a trial period to ensure Lollie is the right fit for you, and that you’re the right fit for her.

There will be a rehoming fee involved to help cover her desexing costs. We are also looking for a home that is financially able to provide for her ongoing care and any future veterinary needs.

This is a difficult decision, and finding the right home is far more important than finding a quick home. We want Lollie to spend the rest of her life happy, loved, and cherished.

🧬 What Does DNA Clear Actually Mean? 🤎

One question we often get asked at Gold Coast Ruff Magic is… “What does DNA clear mean?”

DNA testing allows breeders to screen for known inherited genetic conditions that may be carried within a breeding line.

When we say a dog is DNA clear, it means that based on the genetic conditions tested, that dog does not carry the specific variants included in that testing panel and therefore cannot pass those tested conditions onto their puppies.

But this part is just as important ❤️

Being a carrier — or even testing positive to some testable conditions — does NOT automatically mean a Cavalier is unhealthy, unwell or unable to live a long happy life.

Many carriers and affected dogs can live completely normal lives and never show clinical signs depending on the condition involved.

DNA testing is not about labelling dogs as good or bad — it’s about understanding genetics and making informed breeding decisions.

And equally…

DNA clear does NOT mean a puppy is guaranteed to be healthy for life.

There are many factors that contribute to health including environment, development, unknown genetics and conditions that currently have no available DNA testing.

What DNA testing does allow us to do is reduce preventable inherited risks where possible and make thoughtful decisions for future generations.

At Gold Coast Ruff Magic, our goal has never been simply to breed for colour.

As much as we absolutely love chocolates and rare colours, our focus has always been to breed better, not just breed different.

For over 6 years we have invested heavily into learning, researching, DNA matching, health testing and carefully selecting pairings to continue improving our lines generation after generation.

We know DNA testing can sometimes be misunderstood or viewed differently across breeding programs, and we respect that everyone has their own approach. But for us personally, striving towards stronger health outcomes and increasing the number of DNA clear dogs within our program remains incredibly important.

Especially in a breed where the genetic pool can already be limited — and even more so within Chocolate Cavaliers — we believe that doesn’t mean we stop trying… it means we keep working harder, making thoughtful decisions and continuing to move forward ❤️

No breeder can promise perfection.

But every responsible breeder should aim to leave the breed a little better than they found it ✨

Woody is a beautiful solid chocolate, DNA clear boy who we believe will bring another level of quality to our breeding program as we continue working towards producing healthy, well planned and thoughtfully bred Cavaliers.

Every addition to our program is carefully considered, with decisions based around health, DNA compatibility, temperament and the long-term future of the breed.

We are incredibly excited about what Woody will contribute in the years ahead and the opportunities he may offer — not only within our own program but potentially supporting other like-minded breeders in producing beautiful, health-focused puppies in the future.

We cant wait to welcome him into our home full time from tomorrow onwards ... Thanks to the best brother

One thing many people don’t realise about responsible breeding is that no breeder does it alone ❤️

Behind Gold Coast Ruff Magic are 4 incredible guardian families who open their homes and hearts to raise and love some of our beautiful Cavaliers as their own family members.

These special dogs live everyday family lives — sleeping on couches, going on adventures, being completely adored — while also remaining part of our long-term vision for our breeding program.

And while we currently have our wonderful guardian families helping shape the future of our program, we also want to acknowledge the amazing guardians we’ve had over the years with now retired Cavaliers. Their love, trust and support helped create the foundations of where Gold Coast Ruff Magic is today and we are so grateful for every family who has been part of that journey ❤️

Without the support, trust and dedication of these amazing families and close friends, our ability to continue moving forward and carefully developing our lines would be very limited.

Our goal has never been about breeding more — it has always been about breeding better.

Over the last 6 years, we have invested countless hours into learning, researching, health testing, DNA matching and making thoughtful breeding decisions with the future of the breed in mind.

Today, we are incredibly proud of the progress we’ve made and the quality of health and DNA profiles within our program — something we’ve worked very hard to build and continue improving.
