A man on a mission to do make a difference . Dollar for Dusty

Dusty from Warren is raising awareness and funds to bring Paediatricians to the kids in rural towns, and this done by the incredible Little Wings Organisation. Little Wings Australia

Little Wings who is mostly run by volunteers, playing important roles to get rural children the support they need. 💝

Dusty is walking from Warren to Canberra, and already reached Peak Hill today, reaching Alectown late this afternoon. 💪

Share you support for this young man, who has a heart of gold. The compassion and empathy he is displaying, caring about other children in need. He is on a mission.

Follow and cheer him on his journey and donate if you can. Dusty already has raised $210,500 for little wings, making such an impact for little hero’s in need x unbelievable!

I had the pleasure of attending a Little Wings Charity event recently, talking to some of the amazing volunteers with the biggest hearts, and hearing the stories of these little heros fighting for the health. A true organisation that really care 💝

I can’t image the heartache that families and their little fighting champions experience when they need ongoing medical support for serious health needs. They need support bigger then what they can manage on their own. That is why Little Wings is so important.

My heart goes out to all the rural children and their families who are experience real health conditions and medical needs.

I do not need Little Wings, but other families do. And that’s enough to have my full support.

Go Dusty!!! You absolute champion!!🏆

Dropping in to say.. I’m still here 🙋‍♀️🌱💚

It’s unlike me not to be pumping out posts with garden shares and updates.. I can’t believe it’s been a week. 🫠💚🌱 I just haven’t had the energy or mental space to show up online.

Behind the scenes the kids and I have had endless appointments, running the business and processing all the orders for upcoming loads.. 🌱

Through the thick of the storm I didn’t prioritise my wellbeing when I needed to the most.. last week I reached breakpoint and spent most of Friday weeping.. with limited pottering time in the garden over the last month, meant I wasn’t taking enough moments to breathe between rushing from appointments and tasks.

Friday my brain and soul was broken, I went out into the garden and pottered around the patch, geez I felt so much better. Not doing massive projects, just pottering.. pottering regulates a calmer pace in my brain.

It’s not a poor me story, it’s just the season of my little family journey and seeking the support we each need to thrive. 🌱💚 I am truly grateful for the life that I have. I am able to run the business around the needs of my family. 🧑‍🧒‍🧒💝

I’m still here and it’s still on systems go with the business.. this stunning rainbow tonight was a beautiful reminder to take a moment to appreciate natures gifts and that this hard challenging parenting phase will pass too… and I will have the energy to show up with full energy again 🌈🌈🌈🌈

Each load is very unique. Depending on the orders, will determine the route dad will take. So please reach out to discuss your town xx

Riverina 2 Load.. (date adjustment) 30th August.. Temora, Junee, Coolamon, Marrar, Wagga.. back through Cootamundra on the 1st of September - all the towns along the route.

Riverina 1 Load… 15th September ..
Weethalle, Yenda, Griffith, Leeton, Narrandera.. all the towns along the route.

South East Load.. 11th September weekend..
Temora, Harden, Young, Boorowa, Yass, Murrumbateman, Canberra, all ACT, Queanbeyan, Bungendore.. all the little towns along the route.

Central West 1… 25th September
Forbes, Parkes, Peak Hill, through to Dubbo (and strip of towns out to Warren), and through Wellington and Molong.. back through to Forbes. all the towns along the route.

Central West 2 Load- 17th October weekend
Forbes through to Orange, Millthorpe... down through to Canowindra, Cowra and Grenfell. all the little towns along the route.

You are always welcome to collect directly from our Ungarie workshop 🌾 quick turn around if collecting 🤗

All hand made in Ungarie by dad and the team Kerry & Katie, using reclaimed corrugated iron from local farms.

Huge progress day yesterday on the Chicken Patch project 🌱🐣

Cleaned out the shed and front wall came off. The sheets will be used to section off the back section of the old shed.

I ordered the water and food feeders already, so that I would follow through on this project 🤣🐣🌱 I seen these products on Troy Rhoades-Brown page with what he uses.. and his amazing coop set up is the vibe I’m going for.. rustic and reclaimed.

If I wasn’t transforming this existing shed, I would of bought a coop from Prestige Coops and Cubbies . I will be getting them to make a few doors for the space 🐣

The goal was to start this project in 2027.. so we are ahead of schedule 🐣🤣

I was then greeted with a night of cleaning carpet at 2am 🤮😭 poor little Ned is home today and I also now have a head cold 🤪 so my admin day isn’t going to plan 🤹 balls are dropping today 🤪

so glad we smashed out what we did yesterday and hopefully we haven’t made grandad sick 🫣 he is back in Ungarie now making garden beds for the next loads 🌱

All Systems Go

When dad shows up at your home tomorrow with your wicking beds with a smile on his face… behind the smile is a family business that puts in their heart and soul into it 💝

Latest loads behind the smile story…. Katie sent me snaps last Friday prepping the wicking beds ready Wicking Day on Monday.. a double batch in fact..

Monday arrives.. wicking commenced and then the wicking machine failed.. wicked just enough for delivering the Griffith/ Narrandera load on Tuesday

Tuesday- dad heads off and delivers the Griffith/ Narrandera load… and then turns straight around and heads to Sydney to collect a part for the wicking machine

Wednesday- arrives back to ungarie and repairs the wicking machine

Thursday- wicking day take two. Thank gosh it was a huge success. With Kerry off now for a month, it was just dad and Katie on deck and mum with her recovering arm watching the wicking machine levels. And then water proof testing completed

Friday - loaded the truck ready for the Central West load tomorrow and rolled more beds ready for pick ups Monday.

Saturday- tomorrow - delivery day- when dad arrives at your home with a smile on this face.. his cheerful smile is never just a smile.. it’s a smile of hard work, determination, dedication, commitment from a genuine country town family business

To dad, it’s just a smile.. he is just getting on with it and pushes through with a can do attitude.. but mushy me sees past the smile

To all the small businesses and families businesses out there xx we know you showing up with a smile, it represents all the hard work behind the scenes xx

Katie you legend! What a week on top of the hard work you already do xx we appreciate you so much! You are such a trooper 💝

I’m one of those plants.. that sook in the winter 🤭 then find start poking its little flowers out when the time is right 🤭🙋‍♀️👩‍🌾
