Well, what a day! ❤️
Today we stepped out and did something a little different, heading along to the Dogs Day Out event in Castle Hill. There were so many fun, quirky competitions, so of course we couldn’t resist entering a few!
Pepper absolutely smashed it:
🥉 3rd place – Large Dog Biscuit Eating Competition
🥇 1st place – Prettiest Female Dog
🏆 Best in Show
So proud of my girl 🐾

Unfortunately no placement for Bluey in the Most Handsome Male category it was their biggest class yet with 37 entries! Still so proud of him regardless 💙
A huge thank you to the event organisers for putting together such a fun and well-run day we had the best time!

Also a massive thank you to Kim and Tiarne for handing out brochures for me today I appreciate it 😁

Royal Easter Show Grooming Competition 2026 🐩✨
🥈 2nd Place – Salon Freestyle

Such a good start to the 2026 competition year! From a 4am wake-up to get everything organised, to stepping into the ring attempting a completely new style Asian Fusion which I’ve never had the chance to properly practice before, I’m so proud of how it all came together even if some parts of the groom didn't turn out how I expected.

Second time using Ted in Salon Freestyle for a competition, and although he was a little distracted with how big and busy the event was, he absolutely pulled through and did me proud. His patience and trust made all the difference, and I couldn’t have asked for a better partner in the ring.

Massive thank you to Denisha for yet again preparing Luna for me to use in Asian Fusion. Even though we didn’t place this time, I’m so grateful for the opportunity to step outside my comfort zone, learn something new, and gain experience in a completely different style it’s only up from here.

A big thank you to the judges, Simon Yu (NZ) and Bernard Ong (SGP), for your time, knowledge and for recognising the work that goes into competition grooming.

✨️Mastergroom UK online competition✨️

🥇 1st place all other purebreds 🥇

I entered this one back in January and the ribbon has only just landed… perfect timing for Pepper to be in her full “in-between grooms” era 😂
She’s currently growing out for her next competition, so she’s a bit fluffy and far from ring-ready but we couldn’t pass up the chance for a quick photo with her win 🏆📸

5 months between these two photos of this little cutie 🐶✂️
This isn’t 5 months between grooms it’s just showing the difference that good coat maintenance and healthy hair growth can make over time. With regular grooming and proper care at home, the coat stays healthy and mat-free which allows it to grow fuller and gives me much more to work with when styling.
It’s also really cool for me to look back at photos like this and see how my own grooming skills develop over time as well. As I keep learning, practicing, and refining my techniques, I’m able to shape the coat better and achieve cleaner, fuller finishes.
Same pup, just 5 months of coat growth, maintenance, and a little bit of groomer improvement along the way ✂️🐾

The ‘Ultimate Oodle’ competition, proudly supported by ADVANCE™, is free to enter and all you need to do is send us photos of your perfect pooch to be in the running! There are six classes, and the competition will be judged by dog trainer and TV personality Farmer Dave.

First, second and third place in each class will win tickets to the Sydney Royal Easter Show, plus other great prizes. Our six class winners will then go to a public vote, with the most popular pooch crowned our 2026 ‘Ultimate Oodle’.
