Account 4545-02937 Operating since 2011, we are a co-operative of volunteer foster carers and passionate animal advocates, working together to achieve our shared vision. We have

a no-kill philosophy, with a focus on finding animals their forever homes through our Foster to Adopt Program. This program is key to our organisation’s success, as it rehabilitates our animals in preparation for their new life. We focus on:
- reducing the number of unwanted and abandoned animals through rehoming
community education
- desexing initiatives, and
- liaising with other welfare organisations

We do this with a direct purpose, which is working towards the introduction of new legislation to give greater protection to all animals. This also serves to provide further direction for other registered rescue organisations. Maggie’s Rescue cares for all our animals through our amazing network of foster carers. They provide a safe and nurturing home for animals in need until their forever home is found.

Meet Reba — social butterfly, plant-pot enthusiast, and certified Manx model (yes, the no-tail club!) 😸✨

Reba is the kind of kitten who makes friends on arrival. Humans? Love them. Other cats? Also love them. Chaos? Occasionally, yes.
This funny little Manx girl zooms around like a mini tail-less tornado, especially when she’s wrestling with her equally playful brother Austin. Once she’s burned through her energy, she’s known to curl up in a plant pot to recharge — because beds are overrated 🌱

Despite the zoomies, Reba has a soft, gentle nature, a surprisingly big purr for a kitten with no tail, and a heart that melts fast with kind humans (bonus points if you bring treats).

Reba comes fully VIP’d — microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

Her ideal home:
🏡 Honestly? She’s pretty adaptable — let’s meet and see if the vibes align
Energy level: Moderate. Sweet and gentle with people, absolute wrassling champion with siblings.
Kids: Best with respectful kids aged 8+.

This girl has immaculate vibes and somehow she’s still waiting for her people?? Make it make sense.
Aroha is the kind of cat who’s always up for whatever you’re doing — playtime? Yes. Chill time? Also yes. Watching the world go by from a window like it’s reality TV? Absolutely.

Her dream setup:
🧸 Toys, towers, things to climb
🌇 Windows to supervise the neighbourhood
🏠 A secure balcony, courtyard, or even some stairs to zoom on
📦 Apartment life? Already doing it and thriving
Energy level: Elite balance. Play when it’s fun, chill when it’s time. No drama. Just vibes.

Kids: Loves cat-loving humans of all ages and sizes.
Other cats: Total social butterfly — currently living with foster sisters (3 & 10 years old) and a kitten her age like it’s no big deal.

So far, Newman hasn’t quite found those people. Not because he’s difficult but because he’s special.

Umbra is one of life’s gentle observers. She’s the kind of cat who prefers whispered conversations, cosy corners and meaningful connections over centre-stage theatrics. If you move calmly, speak kindly, and understand that love doesn’t always arrive with fireworks, Umbra might just be your perfect match.

We like to think of her as a little Elphaba-coded — misunderstood at first glance, but incredibly sweet once you earn her trust. Her sleek black coat is pure enchantment, her green eyes miss nothing, and she’s happiest surveying her kingdom from a high perch or a tucked-away hidey spot.

Maggie’s Rescue

Maggie's Rescue is a NFP, No Kill animal rescue group based in Marrickville in the Inner West of Sydney. We are a co-operative of carers, who are all committed to our mission, which is to save and re-home abandoned and at risk animals, initially into a warm and loving foster home until we are able to find their perfect adoptive home. 🐶🐱

Our vision is that we do this with compassion, honesty and support to all our foster carers, volunteers, adopters and the greater community.

If you are able to offer a safe home to an animal in need or if you are interested in becoming a foster carer, then you will be rewarded with lots of affection and loyalty, and a love which is unconditional and furry!

All of our rescued animal leave our care vet checked, vaccinated, microchipped, de-sexed, flea and worm treated.
