Happy Adopter Tails | Megan & Geoffrey 💛🐾

Not even the floods could keep this greyhound from finding his way home to Megan 🥹

When Northern Rivers local Megan first met a red fawn greyhound named Geoffrey, she knew he was meant to be hers.

Like many adopters, it was greyhound love at first sight.

After preparing everything for Geoffrey's arrival, disaster struck when devastating floods swept through the Northern Rivers, forcing Megan to put her adoption plans on hold while her home underwent extensive repairs.

Although Geoffrey eventually had to be returned to the adoption program, he never left Megan's thoughts.

Then months later, Megan spotted Geoffrey's profile on the GAP website and immediately called GAP Northern Rivers Regional Coordinator Louise.

To her amazement, Geoffrey was still waiting for a home!

While repairs continued, Megan and her mum travelled regularly to visit Geoffrey, building on the special bond they had formed from their very first meeting.

Today, Geoffrey is a much-loved member of the family and known for his cheeky personality.

“He will always make new friends. In fact, he won’t move until people give him some love! He also gives the best side-eye you’ll ever see.” laughs, Megan.

Looking back on the journey, Megan says every setback was worth it.

Fawn boy Noel had a little admirer at our Byron Bay Adoption Day last Saturday.

One young visitor loved Noel so much that he brought him a toy to keep him company until he can come back and see him again. 🥹

Moments like these remind us just how special greyhounds are, especially for kids. ✨

What a beautiful day in St Ives! 🐾☀️

From the moment the gates opened, our greyhounds were soaking up the pats, making new friends and turning on their irresistible charm. 💫

Tonight, greyhounds including Red, Mr B, Mighty, Beauty, Bear, Zoe, Charles, Mary, Scarlet, Bingo and Ocean are settling into new homes, while Ruby and Bill have found wonderful foster pawrents. 🐾

A huge thank you to everyone who came along today, whether you were there to adopt, foster or simply spend time with our greyhounds.

Thank you also to our wonderful volunteers, team and supporters for helping make the day possible. ✨
