Back In 2021 - Randwick Bloodstock were cosigned to sell Group 2 winning mare ‘Fiesta’ — Before she went into the sales ring the next day. They floated sire options for her on X (Twitter) — Rather than their choice of Exceed And Excel , they went with my selection ‘Pinatubo’ and the long wait is over! Pinatubo x Fiesta c**t ‘Carnevale’ steps out in the Group 3 Maribyrnong Plate @ Flemington on Cup day — there was a very powerful cross behind my selection I.E the double cross of Sharpen Up back into Kris — this cross was validated in 2025 when ‘War Machine’ won the Group 1 Stradbroke and was selected for The Everest. N.B. Lindsey Park who purchased and train ‘War Machine’ also purchased and train ‘Carnevale’. They clearly rate the cross of Sharpen Up!

Great win tonight by Ask The Breeder bred Whiskey Gossip. Running best of night Warragul 22.90, on a harrowed track in howling winds. To put it into perspective star galloper Unleash In Miami LAW in 22.98. G1 Hobart 1000 finalist Jebediah 23.06. Even star galloper Matt Loch ran 26.16 BON over the 460m (0.97 outside record). Excited to breed this bitch in the future! A huge thank you to Kayla Cottrell and Dave Knocker. Credit to previous trainer Tom Rees. All have put so much work into this girl. Hopefully we get to see how good she can be.

Ask The Breeder started Winning Pedigrees on Twitter for a bit of fun during Covid. But, showed plenty of times the power of pedigree knowledge. One such example was identifying the power behind crossing Harry Angel, with a Street Cry mare. From mentioning it to the owners of Winx - to 12 months later, noticing a first starter Tom Kitten with the cross - to Tom Kitten, winning the Listed Fernhill Hcp - to last weekend Tom Kitten demolishing the field to win the Group 1 Spring Champion Stakes. Just as I identified Nicki Fields, when she was only a TAB winner, tried to purchase at that stage and recommended Barcia Bale on request of the owner who wouldn’t sell her to me - result Hooked On Scotch. The power of pedigree, is undeniable 💪👍

Ask The Breeder ‘bred’ Buckeye Bullet bolts in Albion Park in a flying 34.75 BON. Taking the Fabregas x Pennybacker litter p’money to $394,415. Congrats to owner-trainer Wayne Spann.
