A very regular, long time client is faced with the absolutely heartbreaking decision of considering rehoming their 2 furbabies. I have said I will see if any of my other amazing clients may know someone who would be looking for some new furry friends. Puppy stage is done and dusted, they are crate trained and lovely girls I have enjoyed grooming for many years now. Strictly No kids and no separating them. Exciting announcement!
I am incredibly excited to be able to announce that I will be stepping into a teaching role 2 days a week.
This has been a long time goal of mine and something I thoroughly enjoy doing!

Sadly, due to this, I will no longer be able to work mondays or tuesdays in my salon.
For those that do not need a monday or tuesday specifically, I will do my absolute best to try fit you elsewhere.
Unfortunately I am only capable of grooming so many in a day, and whilst I would love to offer longer days to fit everyone in, that is completely unsustainable for my body to cope with.

I am aware this may mean some of you may have to find a new groomer, but I will try to help if possible with recommendations and passing on grooming information so they can try continue the same length and style.

What I can also offer....Wednesdays, when Louise and I work side by side, Louise may have appointments available and be able to groom your dog under my guidance, if needed.
Louise is also very happy to continue the care and grooming for those happy to have her take over your dogs grooming needs(same environment and products).
She may have various spots on monday, tuesday, wednesdays and the very odd Saturday available (her Saturday is usually booked out ). Boutique Dog Spa By Lou

If anyone had been considering the need to find a new groomer, please reach out as I know a few awesome ladies in various suburbs that may have more suitable days and times for your needs.

Pet Skin Wellness is not just for dog grooming, but for skin health!

Did you know your dog has skin cells that die and new cells grow on a cycle of roughly 21 days! Thats way (Obviously different cells are dying at different times, or we would have a shedding of skin like snakes do).

Did you know that healthy, nourished and hydrated hair not only looks and feels amazing, but is a part of helping maintain the dogs skin barrier?

Does your groomer use a conditioner? On every dog? Including, and some might argue more importantly, on the short haired dogs?

What hides underneath??

A groomer tells you your dog has matting.
You say, "But I did brush him."

This sort of conversation is heard regularly in the grooming salons.

The trick is a slicker brush, AND a metal comb! (and being shown the correct techniques)
Not all brushes and combs are made alike, so ask your groomer if what you have will work with your dogs coat!

The dog in the picture looked so nice and fluffy on the outside! But when you part the coat, look what we see! Mats!
This was very minor matting, and I hadn't got to the skin yet because this dog IS regular! (This was caused by wearing a doggy jumper... friction causes matting, dog jumpers are not a fluffy dogs friend).

Remember;
If you can not get a metal comb through your dogs coat, we can not get a longer comb attachment through your dogs coat. (Note the name of what we use for longer fluffy styles.....COMB attachment 😊).

If you struggle to maintain your dog in a fluffy trim, book them in more often for maintenance baths that include a brush through!

Ask your groomer to show you, on your dog, how to brush and comb them! Ask again if you forget. Ask again if you dont feel you're getting it right! We are never going to get tired of owners trying to get this skill right!

Changes to payment options.

With EFTPOS surcharge changes coming into effect later this year, I will be discontinuing using EFTPOS from July 1st 2026.

Payment options will be
1. CASH
2. PAYID if possible, or Bank transfer.

Wifi is available for those lacking phone reception at the salon.

Appointment reminders will also remind of payment changes for a little while.
Please request PayID or BankTransfer details when you have decided what option you prefer.
To make this quick and easy when your appointment comes, save these details into your banking ready to go!

Payment can be made anytime prior to walking out the door with your dog freshly groomed! (just like you would pay for any other service provided to you at the time of that service, your dogs groom must be paid for before or during pick up.)

PayID is preferred, it is immediate and sends me a notification. First time bank transfers usually take a few days, so please send me the payment confirmation receipt for that first transfer!

Finally getting round to a few odd jobs!
If anyone felt so kind as to pop an honest review onto google that would be amazing and much appreciated, link at the bottom for it!
I know a few of you have done so in the past, but for some reason all my reviews disappeared and I keep forgetting to ask people if they wouldnt mind to get on and do another!

I also have a few spots opening for some lucky new clients in a couple of weeks, only the smaller dogs sorry! So feel free to once again spread the word where your pups are pampered. 😁

Wednesday spa and stay day!

We can appreciate that sometimes it is inconvenient to have to take time out of your day to drive your dog here and come back an hour and half later.

On a Wednesday, both Louise (highly skilled vet nurse and groomer) and myself are here, so, we will be offering for dogs to be able to stay with us for the day. (For a small additional fee)

Strict conditions:
This is for dogs getting a groom of some description on that day.
There is no other type of "daycare" option.
No aggressive dogs.
If your dog is found unsuitable, be that finding it too stressful, barks excessively or is aggressive towards other dogs, we will inform you that they will have to be booked for the usual appointment going forward.
Dogs that mark indoors will be wearing nappies.

Supervised indoor "hang out" with us, with supervised toilet and short play/walk in the adjoining dog yard.

Timings for drop off can be arranged from 630am with pick up by 6pm.
