IV BEEN OPEN ONE YEAR NOW! How time flies when you love what you do. I’m so so greatful to my wonderful clients that have stuck by me for so long 💞 I know I was alittle slow to begin with haha

I never thought my business would florish so much in one year, with all the groomers in Singo now, I know there’s PLENTY of doggos to go around 😌🐩 so I especially appreciate those that chose my little salon.

Hey friends!

A beautiful client of mine had a good question yesterday regarding grooming her big girl and overheating concerns.
I thought I should share for anyone who has a large dog that needs deshedding who may be also concerned. Or even elderly pups need extra attention when using the dryer (they can stress and overheat quickly).

It does get hot for them being under the dryer for long periods of time. A thick coat takes a long time to completely dry and especially if it’s compacted and malting, takes longer.

So to avoid the stress of the heat, I give breaks, I provide fresh water, I’ll sometimes turn the heat off on the dryer for a while (the heat of the motor is still coming through) and I turn on my air conditioner.
I give baths that are cooler (not cold) because I know a big blow out is coming, and I watch for any signs of overheating (excessive panting and or drooling, lethargy or uncoordinated movement, restlessness etc and stop if need be).

It’s always in my mind how a dog will react to the dryer and how the heat can affect a dog.

The safety of my clients is ALWAYS what comes first. Not always a finished well groomed dog, but I do my best to work with them and make them comfortable to TRY and complete the job.

Quick reminder to pleasssse get in early to book your pups spot!
And if you find yourself waiting cause you haven’t booked soon enough, PLEASE brush your doggies more often when they’re super hairy for me (and for them, cause they hate me trying to demat them!)

Just a reminder - please book ahead of time because I’m busy for a few weeks ahead now 👏🏻🥴😍 thankyou everyone!

Also, how adorable is Wolfie, the Weston puppy I get to groom regularly now!! (💕 at the salon today with his bro, Weston) it was his first ever groom and he did beautifully! (Just gotta remember to try the licky mat next time to help with trimming around his paws 😌)
