Winter is coming… but your dog’s grooming routine shouldn’t be going anywhere ❄️🐾

One of the biggest myths I hear this time of year?
“They don’t need grooming in winter OR we can just stretch the appointments out longer”
Respectfully… no 😌

Grooming is a year-round essential — especially for our long-haired babies.
If you’re wanting to keep that luxe, fluffy look through the cooler months, I offer a maintenance groom ✨
This includes a tidy up around the face, feet, belly & bum (no length off the body), plus a bath, blow dry and nail trim — perfect for extending the life of your last full groom while keeping everything fresh and clean.
But here’s the reality…
Long coats = high maintenance.
If you’re not brushing and fine tooth combing regularly at home, that beautiful long coat will turn into matting very quickly — and that means a full shave at your next appointment. Same goes for longer haircut styles… stunning, but only if they’re maintained.

Want to keep them long and cosy? Absolutely! Just be prepared to put the work in at home 🤍

A few little extras people forget:
– Dog jackets = friction → always brush after taking them off
– Collars left on 24/7 = hidden matting → take them off and brush and comb underneath every few days.

Luxury coats require luxury maintenance ✨

Brush your dogs… or they will need to be shaved like the little lovelies — sometimes matting just cannot be brushed out even by the professionals 🤍🐶

It’s that time of year again 🏝️☀️🫶🏻✨

We’re off on our yearly April holidays to celebrate Hunter’s 5th birthday 🎉🤍

I will be away from 12pm Friday 24th April, returning back to work on the 4th May, with my next available appointments from the 11th May.

I am currently fully booked before we head away, and also fully booked for the week we return.

Exciting news to share with all of our wonderful clients 🐾✨
Many of you will know Meg, who has worked alongside me here at Hunter Valley Pet Parlour since 2018. Over the years she has grown so much in her grooming journey, and I’m incredibly proud to share that she has decided to take the exciting step of starting her own business — Wag M Tails! 🐾💜

Meg will still be operating out of Hunter Valley Pet Parlour, similar to how hairdressers rent a chair in a salon. She’ll be renting her own space within the parlour while building her business and continuing to do what she loves. 🫶🏻

For my clients, this also means a little extra flexibility. If you ever find that I’m fully booked and can’t fit you in on the day you were hoping for, feel free to reach out to Meg. She’s fantastic with the dogs and I have no doubt you’ll love her just as much as I do.
P.s There’s a very good chance Meg has already groomed your dog at some point over the years… so they’ll definitely be in familiar hands! 😄♥️

We are officially back at work at Hunter Valley Pet Parlour - Singleton Heights and to say we’ve hit the ground running would be an understatement… over 70 dogs this week 😅🐶

We hope all of our wonderful clients and furry friends had a beautiful Christmas and a very happy New Year 🥂✨

There’s just one more week until we’re back at Hunter Valley Pet Parlour, and while it’s been a lovely break, I’m more than ready to get back to doing what I love — pampering pups and seeing all those familiar waggy tails again 🐶🤍

We’d also like to introduce the newest (and smallest) member of the Hunter Valley Pet Parlour team 🩶

Meet Ishwar “Gunner” Toruk — our sweet Weimaraner boy, already settling in like he owns the place!

Wow, it’s been such a busy lead-up to the festive season — I’ve been fully booked since early November! Thank you so much to all my amazing clients for your support this year ♥️

✨ Exciting news from us! ✨
Sorry we’ve been a little quiet on socials lately… we’ve been busy buying our first home! 🤩🏡
Phill, Hunter and I are so excited to share that we’ve officially settled in. The salon will continue to operate from 12 Northcott Avenue for the next few years while we plan and build a beautiful new salon at our new property — Darlington House 💛
I’m officially back to business as usual from tomorrow! 🎉
I still have around 20+ messages to reply to, so please bear with me — I promise I’ll get back to everyone, it might just take me a little while. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding 🙏
