Herman is due to head home for a spell after being started undersaddle.

His owner does the majority of her travel alone so we have been doing some float sessions throughout his stay to build his comfidence and be able to load without following the handler into the float.

Amira is with us to be brought back into work after having some lovely foals. She was returned to ridden life well - she always trys to please. Focus on building her work load up (including PEMF Pulse), building confidence and ensuring she is ready to be sold.

Addi - (arab filly) has just completed her first prep being started undersaddle. Keeping in mind she has more mental and physical maturity to come the focus was introducing her to ridden life in a calm, confident and low stress manner.

She has done well - establishing ground work skills, accepting gear, desentization, in hand obstacles and the basic ridden work.

Her owner is committed to setting her up for a successfull life undersaddle with plans for a further ridden block of education after a spell.

🐎 Fallon - clydie x TB 6yr old mare.

Fallon is with us to be brought back into work after displaying some reactiveness with a rider on board. It was identified throughout her groundwork that she was not comfortable acknowledhing her rider above the eye during the mounting process, became worried/reactive when a rider would touch her shoulder/rump in the mounting process and struggled with bend.

She is progressing well - with her confidence in the mounting/dismounting growing every session.

The video shows some of the work we have done focusing on all of the above areas.

The lovely HSES Bear is progressing well with his education as a ridden horse. His ground work is progressing with focus on following the feel and confidence.

His latest session was focusing on above the eye confidence leading to his first mounting session.

⭐️ HSES Bear is approx 7yr old QH gelding (unreg) and will be for sale on behalf of Horse Shepherd Equine Sanctuary at the end of his education.

Herman the lovely stb being educated as a ridden horse has startes to be hacked out with the focus shifting to exposure to new surrounds, different surgaces and riding away from other horses.

His owner plans to trail ride him in the future - so exposure will be a key to him going on to be a successful trail horse.

Herman the lovely stb being educated as a ridden horse is continuing to find his confidence and balance with a rider.

Ridden sessions now include asking him to maintain the trot for longer periods, work on a circle and finish in a halt. Being delibrate with asking the above helps Herman use his hind end well becoming more blananced.

As a raced stb he often looks to become heavy in the front end (bred and trained to pull) so asking for transitions helps him to keep shifting his wieght onto the hind.

🐎 Floss, a stb mare is with us for some further education both on the ground and undersaddle.

In preparation for Floss to transition home her owner/rider has been attending for some lessons. These lessons provide opportunities for questions and practice of exercises which will assist Floss to continue building balance and maintain leadership boundaries.

We collected our next horse Bear from Horse Shepherd Equine Sanctuary over the weekend and what a delight he has been already.

HSES Bear is approx 7yr old QH gelding who came into the care of HSES from a council pound.

Caught from his herd, a light groundwork session to prepare him for the float in the indoor and a night in yards saw him travel quietly home. Our initial impression is a kind and willing horse seeking to please.
