Well it's sadly time for our beautiful little 5 kilos King Charles Cavvy girl , the wonderful, sweet and sensitive gentle little “ Hope: to find her forever family home.
Hope is a very loving, gentle little dog who may be small but always manages to make it clear what she wants whether a cuddle or your chair.
Hope came into us from a pound after she was dumped by a breeder after being born with No back feet. Now don't let this deter you as our special little trooper manages very well and after having prosthetics made for her and 6 months of rehabilitation therapy and hydrotherapy to build the appropriate muscles in her legs and back to move comfortably in her new legs , our amazing little girl now loves putting her legs in to go for a daily walk and spend time out and about exploring the world around her.
She loves playing with her ball or toys and she will steal her carers shoes if she has the opportunity. She is not at all destructive and as her confidence has grown she is becoming more playful.
When not playing or sleeping Hope likes to sit in her bed in front of the window watching the world go by.
Hope can be a little reserved when initially meeting new people however does warm up quickly with calm and gentle people and enjoy cuddles and affection.Hope is ok with other small gentle dogs but is intimidated by larger dogs than herself but she does not like sharing her favorite toys with others and really seems to prefer human company over other dog friends. . She will play with other dogs that she likes so if there is another dog in the home it might take her a little while to warm up completely. She has been fostered with a cat for a time so perhaps she could live with a dog savvy cat.
Hope likes nothing better than human company and will follow wherever they go. She does enjoy short periods of time outdoors by herself but does not like very hot or cold weather and must be an inside dog no exceptions please She travels very well in the car and sits quietly or goes to sleep.
Hope is a pretty fussy little eater and has been on a very premium diet of slow cooked and air dried dry food in which she will graze on during the day.
She sleeps on her foster carers bed and loves snuggling up on a cold night
In the beginning of her journey Hope was a little slow to realise she needed to go to the toilet outside resulting in accidents however it is now some time since that happened and now waits at the door to be let out. She goes outside at bedtime and sleeps undisturbed all night from 10.30 to 7.30. She would benefit from access to a doggy door once she learnt to use it. She has been sleeping with her carer.
Hope loves her daily walk and enjoys the opportunity to sniff everything. A walk of about 30 minutes suits her. Once she has her prosthetics on she is definitely ready for her walk.
Hope is a kind and gentle little girl who does not like a busy loud household and we feel homes with loud teenagers or small children would not benefit her.
A perfect home for Hope would be with a mature single or couple who are home most of the time and who will love her and give her all the attention she deserves. Please be mindful Hope must wear her prosthetic legs when out and about and can occasionally be wiggly in excitement to put them on so we are seeking a home that is capable and confident to put these on her before she leaves the house.
