With the weather heating up this weekend it’s a good time to review emergency plans including our pets.
If you don’t have one then consider these tips to help you set one up.

The weather this weekend is forecasted to be very hot and dry, so it's important to stay up to date and know what you should do in the event of a fire.

Download the VicEmergency app and set up a watch zone to receive push notifications about incidents and warnings in your area.

Make sure you have a fire plan and your pets are included.

Here is a basic checklist to help you prepare to keep your pets safe:
1. Have you included your pets in your emergency plan?
2. Does your pet have a collar, council registration tag and microchip?
3. Are your contact details current for your pet’s microchip?
4. Are your pet’s vaccinations up to date?
5. Have you prepared a pet emergency plan and disaster kit?
6. Have you identified where you will evacuate your pets to?
7. Have you determined which evacuation routes are available and safe in an emergency?
8. If you can’t take your pets with you, have you provided them with a protected space, at least 10 days supply of water and 4-5 days supply of dry food?
