FIFO? Shift worker? Can’t commit to a full 5-week dog training course?

I’ve now opened a limited number of CASUAL CLASS SPACES in selected classes at the Dog Training & Enrichment Centre.

If work rosters, FIFO swings or other commitments make a regular 5-week course difficult, this could give you another way to keep training with your dog when you’re available.

Casual spaces will be available in selected classes where there is room, and you can book individual sessions rather than committing to the whole course.

Because these are established training groups, bookings need to be suitable for the class.

Your dog’s previous training and experience will be considered before your booking is accepted, so I can make sure the class is appropriate for you, your dog and the other dogs already attending.

So if you’re home for a week or two and thinking, “I’d love to get back to training while I’m here” — message me and we can look at what classes might suit you.

🐾 Keep building your skills.
🐾 Stay connected with your dog.

Classes are $35 per class per dog.

🐾 A heads-up for dog owners! 🐾

On Monday 27 July at 12:00 pm AWST, a national AusAlert test message will be sent to mobile phones across Australia.

While it’s only a test, the loud emergency alert sound can be startling for many dogs—especially those that are noise-sensitive, anxious, puppies, or dogs currently working through confidence training.

If you have:
📱 An old mobile phone at home
📱 A spare work phone
📱 A tablet

consider switching it off or putting it into Airplane Mode before 12:00 pm, then leaving it off for at least an hour if no one is home. This can help prevent an unexpected alert from frightening your dog while you’re out.

If you’re home when the alert sounds:
🐾 Stay calm.
🐾 Avoid fussing over your dog’s reaction.
🐾 Reward calm behaviour with treats or a favourite activity.
🐾 If your dog is worried, give them space and allow them to settle at their own pace.

Every little bit of planning helps build your dog’s confidence around unexpected noises.

HELP we are on the lookout for some fun dress-up items to help with our Assistance Dog & Therapy Dog Public Access Training.

We’re looking for things like:
Hats, Clown outfits, Masks, Capes, Wigs, Inflatable costumes, Animal costumes
…and anything else that might make someone look a little unusual!

These items help our dogs learn that people can look very different in everyday life, while staying calm, confident and focused. From sporting events and community festivals to hospitals, shopping centres and schools, assistance and therapy dogs may encounter all sorts of sights!

If you have any clean dress-up items tucked away that you no longer need, we’d love to give them a new purpose in our training sessions.

Please send us a message if you have anything you’d be happy to donate or drop it off at the centre.

Thank you for helping us prepare some amazing dogs for the real world!

Perfect for dogs of any age that are just starting their training journey or need to build solid foundations.

2 spaces left in the Tuesday 6:30 pm – Everyday Skills 2
Build reliability around distractions while progressing your dog’s confidence, focus and real-life skills.

2 spaces left in Wednesday 5:00 pm – Bonding Beyond Basics (Beginners)
Take your training further with fun, engaging exercises that strengthen your relationship while introducing more advanced skills and confidence-building activities.

1 space left in the Friday 1:30 pm – Social Skills & Bonding Beyond Basics
A relaxed, social class combining practical training with confidence building, real-life skills and controlled social interactions.

Babies in prams are very welcome in our Friday afternoon class, making it a great option for parents who don’t want to miss out on training with their dog.

Saturday classes are now FULL – thank you for your amazing support!

Classes are held indoors at the Dog Training & Enrichment Centre by MaryKay in Rockingham.

Places are limited and bookings are allocated on a first-paid basis. $175 for 5 weeks
