What a wonderful time watching and learning. From beginners to masters. Mastergroom Canada had a great mix of seminars, competitions, and vendors to chat to about different products, tools, and techniques.
I have found a fascination with the spaniel/setter and handstripped breeds. Their natural coats when done this way, come out so beautifully, its a magical transformation!
It was also lovely to hear from Nathan and Kathlena Ausin, Dr Maryam, Isabella Doblas Jones and Colin Taylor for their different takes to approaching dog grooming, or in Dr Maryam's case, looking out for early signs that may need veterinary intervention 🐶🐾
I also had the chance to visit the Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary and learn about Canada's wolfdog problem!
Like regular dogs that are surrendered to shelters, there are many owners who get a wolfdog because it sounds and looks cool, but dont understand the full range of needs these hybrids have. If they are released into the wild, they haven't been taught how to hunt and will not survive very long in the Canadian wilderness!
It's hard for them to adjust to regular life, often as the wolf part of them is too sensitive, so they really don't belong in either world 🌏 Some very interesting stuff 🧠
I would also like to say a big thank you to all my clients who support my small business. Without your support, I wouldn't be able to attend events like this that encourage growth and perspective. I can then use this knowledge to further work with the dogs in my care in different ways, creating a positive butterfly effect every time ❤️🦋
