Oof… what a week! 🐾
I have always said—and will always stand by it—that I have the absolute best job in the world. But some weeks are just physically, emotionally, and mentally challenging.
To give you a small glimpse behind the scenes, here are just a few of the critical incidents we navigated this week:
Heartbreak: We were devastated to hear that two of our beloved pups crossed the rainbow bridge—one very suddenly.
Team Updates: Pascal fell quite ill, right on the back of an injury from two weeks ago that he was just starting to recover from.
Logistics: My car had to go in for "surgery," which meant juggling a rental car.
Emotional Rollercoasters: One of our pups had surgery on her front legs. At the exact moment we got the text saying she was okay, we received a text from another family saying their boy had broken his front leg. Talk about mixed emotions.
Health Scares: We dealt with everything with our pups from bleeding during a potty break and a nasty self-inflicted toe injury, to constipation cases and an upper respiratory tract infection making the rounds (stupid Winter! ❄️).
Chaos: A bird managed to get stuck inside, taking 45 minutes of frantic coordinating to separate the cats, save the bird, and get it safely outside!
..and the list goes on.
To our amazing fur-parents: I just want to say a massive thank you. We are truly so lucky to have your support, love, and immense understanding when we have to reshuffle schedules, postpone visits, or, in unavoidable cases, cancel entirely. 🙏❤️
And to our pups: Thank you for providing so much love and emotional support to me this week. No one can ever tell me that dogs don't know what you are feeling. They knew exactly what kind of week it was, and they were so remarkably good, loving, and affectionate.
