The gorgeous little Pug Davo popped into the clinic for a nail trim — but naturally, he couldn’t arrive without making a fashion statement! 😎💙

Rocking his stylish jumper and looking absolutely adorable, Davo was ready for his pampering session. 🥰✂️🐾

Those nails are trimmed, the outfit is on point, and we think it’s safe to say Davo is one very fashionable patient! 😂💕

Meet Hindee! 🖤🤍

This gorgeous spotty girl visited Dr Dale at My Vets Irrawang for her annual health check and 12-monthly vaccinations.

It was the perfect match, as Dr Dale has a real soft spot for Dalmatians and even has one of his own! Needless to say, Hindee received plenty of extra attention and cuddles during her visit.

Annual health checks and vaccinations are an important part of keeping your pet healthy, helping protect them against preventable diseases while giving your veterinarian the opportunity to pick up on any health concerns early.

💙 Bailey’s Brave Surgery Day🐾

It was a very worrying start for Bailey when his owner arrived home to find him collapsed and clearly uncomfortable. He was brought straight into our Thornton clinic, where Dr Steph assessed him and performed an ultrasound.

The ultrasound revealed a large mass on Bailey’s spleen, so Bailey was transferred to our Irrawang clinic for surgery.

Dr Monika performed a splenectomy — the surgical removal of Bailey’s spleen — with Nurse Alia scrubbed in to assist and Nurse Jacinta carefully monitoring his general anaesthetic throughout the procedure. 🩺❤️

So, what does the spleen actually do? The spleen plays an important role in the immune system and helps filter the blood, including removing old or damaged red blood cells. The good news is that dogs can live happy, healthy lives without their spleen, as other organs, including the liver and lymphatic system, can take over many of its important functions.

For Bailey, removing the spleen was the safest option given the large mass that had developed on it. ❤️

We’re incredibly happy to say that this brave Beagle is now on the road to recovery and doing very well! 🐶✨ Seeing him comfortable and recovering so well has been the best outcome we could have hoped for.

A huge thank you to our wonderful Thornton and Irrawang teams for coming together to care for Bailey when he needed us most. 💙

And most importantly, thank you to Bailey’s owner for trusting our team with his care during such a scary and uncertain time. We know how difficult it can be to leave your beloved family member in someone else’s hands, and we’re so grateful you trusted us to help Bailey through this. 🥹❤️
