It's that time of year again and now we are finally starting to get some rain we will also want to be getting rid of those weeds! BUT a reminder Pesticides and Insecticides can help control pests but can be dangerous for our pets. Here’s what you need to know to keep your furry friends safe:
1. Store products out of reach.
2. Read and follow label instructions.
3. Use pet-friendly alternatives.
4. Keep pets away from treated areas.
5. Clean up spills immediately.
6. If you suspect your pet has been poisoned, seek immediate veterinary attention!

Noticed your old dog or cat slowing down?
Are they struggling to get up?
Refusing to climb stairs or jump on the couch?
Becoming exercise intolerant?
Maybe your cat is no longer grooming themselves, especially in those hard to reach places?
Getting worse with the cold weather?
Are you seeing obvious lameness?

If you have answered yes to any of these than your pet could be suffering from Osteoarthritis. There are many different preventative and treatment options to keep your pet comfortable.

Call us to book a consultation with one of our vets and see what option/s could benefit your pet 🐈🐕

JITTERS!

One of our two clinic cats - Jitters was bought into our clinic back in October 2019 after being found wandering. Although she had a collar, no one came forward for her. At first we worried Jitters may have been experiencing some sort of toxicity as she was shaking and twitching all over... but it didn't take us long to realise this was just her! It is likely this was a neurological disorder that she was born with. Once we realised she was not unwell she was taken next door to the RSPCA for adoption, where she remained for all of a few hours before we quickly realised we could not be without her!

Now Jitters spends her days meandering around the clinic, enjoying love and pats from all 19 of our staff members. Her favourite past time is sitting at reception, teasing all the dogs in the waiting room ensuring she is just out of reach, or walking from one room to another meowing to go in one door, just to meow and want back out again. If there is roast chicken being prepared for a hospital patient, she will gladly sacrifice herself to taste test and ensure its up to standard. As pictured, if there is a sunny spot she will gladly lounge in it!

We love you Jitters!

IT'S NATIONAL PET IDENTIFICATION WEEK!

Have you ever wondered about the importance of microchipping your pet? It’s a secure, permanent way to ensure they can find their way home if lost. A tiny chip is placed under their skin, allowing vets and shelters to scan for your pet’s unique ID!

Benefits include:
✔️ Reliable identification
✔️ Increased chances of reunion
✔️ Legal compliance in most regions

Don't forget to keep your contact details up-to-date in the registry! Plus, consider adding an ID tag for extra security.

Get in contact with us today about your Pets Microchipping needs.
