Well… what was supposed to be a 5 day trip officially became an 8 day adventure 😅

Today, the final crew boarded the ferry, with the last 11 of our 21 horses making the Bass Strait crossing together.

In a fitting twist, BravoFlight Little Ambassador and BravoFlight Resolute, who led the way when we first loaded up on the mainland, are now bringing up the rear. Tail-end Charlies, making sure everyone is herded up and gets home safely 💚🩶🖤

The last week has thrown just about everything at us. What started as a meticulously planned relocation quickly turned into a lesson in flexibility. We had a mandatory rest day before the truck runs even started, courtesy of Jodi, who likes to pretend she’s the boss and every now and then we let her believe it. But really, who was going to argue with a rest day? 😉 Then came a snapped timing belt, some campsite metal fabrication, truck ramps that decided they were permanently deployed (thankfully before any horses were loaded), and undoubtedly several other dramas that have already been blocked from memory.

While the schedule blew out from 5 days to 8, the horses have taken it all in their stride and reminded us yet again why we love them.

Jodi spent the entire extended stay camped at Geelong Showgrounds with the horses, armed with exactly three pairs of jeans and three T-shirts. By the end of it, the horses probably didn’t mind, but the humans nearby may have had opinions 🤣

Despite initially dreading whatever was about to emerge from a gooseneck that rolled in late one night, one unexpected bonus for Jodi was meeting a pretty cool bloke from her old stomping ground of Katherine, NT. Turns out he wasn’t so bad after all, and BravoFlight has come away with a new mate.

As always, Alex, Jodi and all the ponies are eternally grateful for “Uncle” Frank 🫶🏼

Keeping Alex company on the long truck rides, lending a hand wherever needed, and working harder than anyone had any right to expect, and then some.

Thanks to him, this trip became 5 days turned 8, instead of 10 turned 16.

Next (and LAST) stop: Tasmania!

And we’re off! 🏁

BravoFlight Little Ambassador and BravoFlight Resolute are leading the way, with BravoFlight Wings of Valour, BravoFlight Cipher, and Cresta Coral (Ellie, our amazing TB broodmare and the very best nanny) following closely behind. 💚🩶🖤

Ellie is also carrying some very precious cargo, with the first BravoFlight foal due for the season onboard, a Littlebanks Crystal Wings baby of course 😍

Tomorrow is the boys’ turn, along with our Littlebanks mares. Then on Tuesday, the final members of the herd will meet me in Geelong before Phase Two begins as we cross the Bass Strait.

Where has the time gone?!

Ambassador is growing into the sweetest, most gentle young man 🥰 8½ months but is really a little old man at heart.

You won’t find him far without his sister Resolute. We joke that these two share the same brain. They take the same steps, same turns… they even have toilet breaks at the exact same time 😂

She looks after him and he wouldn’t have it any other way 💕

Right now it’s all about growing up and enjoying the days here at BravoFlight for these young ones 💚🩶🖤

A long overdue welcome to one of our newest team member, Mariah, affectionately known as ‘Riri’. She is a stunning Zerox te (CC Sadaqa) x Tora Moesha (Aquanitor) 2021 mare.

Years ago, we met Moesha and completely fell in love with her temperament. She was incredibly gentle and an absolute pleasure to be around. Unfortunately, age wasn’t on her side, and we never got the chance to cross her with LBCW as we had hoped.

Fast forward a few years, and we were thrilled to have the opportunity to purchase Riri. The chance to secure a Moesha filly, especially one by a son of Sadaqa (like LBCW), was something we simply couldn’t pass up. We feel incredibly fortunate to have such closely aligned breeding to what we had envisioned all those years ago 💚

Riri is a maternal half sister to:
- Tora Windigo, a popular endurance sire producing multiple FEI* ride winners across Australia and overseas.
- Tora Sardeeka, a multi-ride winner and quality endurance sire, currently standing in Victoria.
- Delilah te, proven across FEI 2* & FEI 3* with multiple top 10 placings and a two time TQ finisher.
- Armageddon te, consistently competitive at high levels, including top 10 finishes in the President of UAE Cup for Ladies and the Dubai Crown Prince Endurance Cup.

Once we are settled in to our new property, we’re excited to start working with her and to see what she can do out on the track 🤞🏼 💚🩶🖤

After weighing up freight costs vs upgrading… safe to say the upgrade might be winning 🙊

I’ve got a feeling an enclosed cab with heating is in our future 😂❄️

So, our little beast of a tractor Gertrude is looking for her new home ❤️
