Hi, my name is Kym and, with my husband David, we own and operate The White Rabbit Retreat right here in Perth, Western Australia. Well, what we offer is unique and exclusive – some would say ‘boutique’….Essentially, we look after your rabbits in 5-star luxury whilst you’re away on holiday! We are often asked why we created The White Rabbit Retreat. At the time, we were a family with just 1 very spoilt rabbit named Minty. Our beautiful Minty was a white dwarf X rabbit with black markings and the sole inspiration behind ‘The White Rabbit’ name. So why create a retreat for rabbits? The idea was formed when it came time for us to take a short break – we could see there was a huge need for high-end luxury indoor care for rabbits, especially for people looking to go away on holiday. 90% of the holiday boarding places we researched housed rabbits in breeding banks, wooden hutches outdoors or cages with very little to keep them occupied. This simply wasn’t acceptable! As soon as we were home, we began planning……little did we know that nearly 10 years down the track we would be Perth's number 1 boarding facility and now includes grooming only (The Retreat Spa) and our own rabbit bedding range (Billy & Co) all handmade by David!

Thankyou to for having us on their beautiful Bedfordale property! We had the privilege of picking our own kiwi fruit in honour of our dear friend Maverick . He was the OG treat taster with a particular taste for all things kiwi fruit 🥝...Let's be honest, he was obsessed! Our kiwi fruit haul from today will be hand cut and dehydrated for our next batch of fruit salad treats! It was nice to actually take a few hours off and enjoy some time with Dave, fresh air and a hot coffee (and home made brownie) from their cute as a button van on site! Highly recommend a visit!

Snowball checked in for her first groom this morning! Just a young baby (5 months) and she had the sharp talons to prove it...we clipped her nails short, deshedding brush, knots removed and tidied up her tail. Snowball LOVED her massage and 🍌 treat today. Snowball will be back in a few months for her first holiday! 🐰💗

Something special we've been working intensively on over the past 10 days! Delilah, some of you may recognise from our many, many posts for ... The handsome bun next to her is Possum, one of our boarding clients. Delilah was here on holiday while her foster carer took some time off, and while she was here, we made arrangements to board Possum. Bonding isn't easy; it takes hours of supervision. We each take a shift to watch and supervise until they can be trusted to occupy the same pen. It has been one of the more difficult bondings, with Possum recently coming out of a bonding trial that wasn't successful. He was carrying some hidden trauma, but we persisted, and with the gentle encouragement from Delilah, by day 5 we'd finally turned a corner, and there were clear signs of a forever bond...yep, real LOVE! Days 5-10 were about solidifying that bond and ensuring they had a strong trust between them. We also groomed them together so they go home smelling the same. Today, Delilah & Possum are heading home together! Their mum and dad have been working seriously hard over the past few days to disinfect Possum's home and have set up a brand-new area perfect for a newly bonded pair. This is what we LOVE about rescue: it's bloody hard work, but moments like these bring that lump in my throat. So proud of Delilah and Possum, we hope everything goes well for them, and we'll be seeing them back again in August for a well-deserved holiday......together! 🐰🐰💗
