We had this gorgeous little girl brought into our Northgate clinic this evening. She was found in the Waverley Heights area. She has no identification on her and her microchip is not registered. If you think this is your fur baby please contact the clinic on 07 3266 9992 between 8.30am and 6pm. Identification will be required for proof of ownership.

🐾 Throwback Patient Spotlight: Nixon 🐾

Casting it back to late last year when we had the pleasure of meeting Nixon 💙🐶 a 1 year old pocket bully with the sweetest personality to match his adorable face.

Nixon visited us for a consultation to investigate some skin concerns, and throughout it all, he was nothing but gentle, affectionate, and an absolute joy to care for. Patients like Nixon truly make our days brighter ✨

🐾 Found Stray Kelpie 🐾

This sweet girl was brought into the clinic after being found wandering along Gympie Road on the footpath.

Unfortunately, she is not microchipped, so we haven’t been able to locate her owner just yet.

She’s safe with us for now, but we would love to get her back home where she belongs 💛

🐾 Behind the Scenes at Northgate Veterinary Surgery 🐾

Nurse Holly and the very lovable Snowy 🐶💛 sharing some well-earned cuddles during Snowy’s stay with us for an ultrasound.

Snowy came prepared for his visit, bringing along some of his favourite treats and toys from home 🧸✨ This is a great way to help our patients feel more comfortable and settled while they’re in hospital. Familiar smells and favourite items can make a big difference in reducing stress and keeping tails wagging!

Safe to say Snowy made himself right at home… and stole a few hearts along the way 🥹

🐾💙 Rolo the Gentle Giant 💙🐾

Meet Rolo, a 4 year old Afghan Hound with model looks and an absolute sweetheart personality 💙

Rolo came in to see us after his family noticed he was a bit sore and limping on one of his front legs. On examination, we found swelling and discomfort in his left front paw, with lameness most noticeable when walking. After a thorough assessment, the pain was localised to his carpus (wrist), where flexion and extension were causing discomfort.

To get a clearer picture, we took radiographs of both front legs. Thanks to Rolo’s calm and gentle nature, we were able to perform these without sedation, he truly was the best boy for his imaging 🥹✨

With the results from the X-rays we were able to rule out any fractures and started Rolo’s treatment plan with some at homr anti-inflammatory pain relief and strict rest for the next 7 days to allow proper healing 🏡💊

We’ll be cheering him on for a smooth recovery and we have no doubt he’ll be back to his elegant strut in no time 🐕‍🦺💫

🐾✨ Lily’s Fresh Smile Glow-Up ✨🐱🦷

Sweet Lily, a 5 year old DMH kitty, visited us 2 weeks ago for a scale & polish and what a transformation it was! 💕

Before her procedure, we ran pre-anaesthetic bloods to make sure everything was safe to proceed (all clear! ✅).
During her dental, we performed a thorough clean and full mouth X-rays 🩻, which revealed something hiding beneath the surface…

Lily had tooth resorption affecting her lower molar (307) which is a common but painful condition in cats that often goes unnoticed 😿. To keep her comfortable and pain-free, we carefully extracted the affected tooth, placed sutures, and ensured everything was neatly closed and healing well 🪡✨

She was sent home with pain relief, somer tender love and care instructions and we’re happy to report she recovered beautifully! 🥰

Dental disease can be sneaky, especially in our feline friends, which is why regular dental checks (and X-rays!) are so important for catching issues early 🦷💡
