My Rex 2018.
Someone asked me if he could do a drop whilst in the middle of a come when called. I had never taught him this. I went outside to see if he could do it and this was what he did first go.
I miss you Rex.

I've seen many dog training TV shows. They all show the "quick fix" and often use aversive (punishment type) techniques. The goal seems to be to make the "star" of the show look good, rather than actually achieving positive and long term help for the dog and the family.
I stumbled across a new show with a well known positive trainer from England. What I've seen is positive based techniques with progressions in the training, rather than the magic fairy dust being sprinkled and boom, everything is fixed. I saw them use LAT, a method I've been using for years. I also saw them spend time gently talking with the owners about their specific situation and their role in it and how their dog might be feeling to cause them to behave in certain ways. This was often very eye opening for said owners.
Hopefully this might be a more realistic show for people to watch to see how things can sometimes develop in dogs and the time and understanding and thoughtful, science based training needed to help change the situation.

Here's a review that I just received. Thank you Megan.

I have recently joined Megan's Dog Training for my 4 month old puppy. We are attending the outdoor class on Saturday morning which is catered to dogs of all ages. The knowledge we have gained is incredible. Megan’s strategies in educating dog parents is unlike anything I have experienced before. We started the lessons with a theory lesson which really knuckled down on the important issues you need to consider without the chaos of the dog with you.
I believe her new classes are starting again soon. If you have been looking for a dog trainer. I recommend Megan. You won’t regret it.

Just want to give a huge shout out to Megan's Dog Training! I have just started Puppy school with my pup and highly recommend Megan's service. Megan is so patient and calm and even provides time after class for any questions and advice. I loved the theory component last week, very informative, which I put into practice this last week...amazing results! Wow! Megan provides a lot of guidance and most importantly teaches the foundations of good training and importance of connection. I have owned many dogs in my lifetime, and self taught what I thought was good training..🙃 Thank you Megan for putting me and my pup on the right path. I originally joined to socialise my pup, but you have opened the door for a whole new world of learning, it's fun, enjoyable and I am so excited for future classes. I also loved how you include the whole family, you are wonderful with the kids that came with their parents..your training is educational, inclusive and holistic..well done!!
