Squirrel Gliders πŸ₯°

These two adorable Squirrel Gliders were brought in by their dedicated wildlife carer for a check-over after being found with their deceased mother. Weighing just 14 and 15 grams, these little guys are some of the smallest patients we have treated. With some medications dispensed and expert care from their registered wildlife carer, we are confident that they will make a full recovery and be released to the wild when they are able.

Sweet, cuddly little Ruby was presented by her new family for a puppy vet health check and was found to have a severe undershot lower jaw and narrow-base canines.
This meant that little Ruby's Lower Canines and Incisors were anchoring into her soft palate at the roof of her mouth, causing trauma and preventing her lower Jaw from growing further forward.
Due to this, Ruby required early intervention, including extraction of all lower baby incisors and both baby lower Canines.

Narrow-based canines are a condition we are seeing more commonly in smaller-breed dogs and often require attention. Early intervention is recommended for achieving the best possible outcomes.
We will continue to monitor Ruby's dental progress as her adult teeth erupt through our free nurse dental checks.
