🌟 Success Story: Jack 🌟

Meet Jack – our very first cat to receive a faecal transplant at Pet Medical! 🐾

Jack was found abandoned and in very poor condition, suffering from severe diarrhoea caused by multiple infectious agents. Despite months of treatment, his gut health was still struggling.

Our team recommended a faecal transplant – a procedure where healthy bacteria from another cat’s poo are introduced to restore the gut microbiome.

✨ The very next day, Jack passed a normal poo for the first time in over two months! ✨

We are absolutely thrilled with this breakthrough and even happier to see Jack now healthy, thriving, and ready for adoption into his forever home. 💙🐱

🦷🐾 Listen to Nurse Estelle as she shares her nightly teeth cleaning routine with her dog, Neo!

Regular brushing is one of the best ways to keep your dog’s mouth healthy, prevent plaque build-up, and avoid painful dental disease. Starting a routine at home can make a big difference for your pet’s long-term health.

✨ Tip: Use a pet-safe toothbrush and toothpaste — never human toothpaste!

Does your dog have a dental care routine?

🐾🎉 Happy International Dog Day! 🎉🐾

Today we celebrate our loyal companions who bring us endless love, laughter, and muddy pawprints. 🐶💛 Whether they are snuggling on the couch, chasing a ball, or just being their goofy selves, dogs truly make every day brighter.

Give your best mate an extra cuddle (and maybe a treat or two 😉) to say thank you for all the joy they bring.

📸 We would love to see your dog - share a photo in the comments and let’s fill our feed with furry smiles!

🦷 Did you know most cats over 3 years of age show signs of dental disease?
Some younger cats can even develop severe juvenile gingivitis, a painful condition that starts early in life and can seriously affect their health.

Senior Nurse Zarli explains the dental procedure performed by the Pet Medical team to help manage this condition and improve the cat's comfort and well being.

🦷🐾 Meet Cooey!
This gorgeous 5-year-old Cavalier cross came in for a routine dental scale & polish — complete with full dental X-rays.

✨ This was an extra special day for us too… Cooey’s dental was the very first procedure on our brand-new, state-of-the-art dental machine!

Routine scale and polish procedures are recommended for early periodontal disease, when the condition is still reversible. If left untreated, bacteria can travel deep into the bone and affect the tooth roots - often leading to extractions in order to keep pets pain-free and healthy.

💡 Did you know?
Advanced dental disease doesn’t just affect the mouth — it can also impact the heart, kidneys, and liver.
✅ Regular dental care = fresher breath, healthier smiles, and happier pets!

🦷 August is Dental Month! 🦷

This Jack Russell came in with a slab fracture of a molar tooth, which had led to an abscess forming at the roots. These abscesses can cause painful swelling on the jaw, often just below the eye.

Slab fractures happen when dogs chew too hard on bones, especially ones that have hardened over time. Tip: Avoid leaving bones out for more than a day—sun exposure and drying make them much harder, increasing the risk of tooth fractures.

Regular dental checks can help detect issues early, prevent pain, and keep your pet’s smile healthy! 🐾

📅 Book your pet’s dental check today — because healthy teeth mean a happy, healthy pet.

✨ Before & After ✨

This is Sweet Ali, our gorgeous little Conure Parrot 🦜 who came in for a beak trim this week.

Overgrown beaks can make it difficult for birds to eat, preen, and play comfortably. Regular trims help keep them healthy and happy 💚.

🦷✨ Dental Month Fun Fact! ✨🦷

When doing a dental check, we sometimes use a special blue light to make bacteria glow pink - just like in this photo! This helps us spot plaque and problem areas we might not see otherwise, keeping those pearly whites healthy and pain-free.

Call the clinic - we offer all year round free dental checks and advice from our qualified nursing team.
