Equine Podiatry & Lameness Centre The Equine Podiatry and Lameness Centre was established to provide advanced veterinary medicine and farriery to horses of all disciplines.

EPLC brings together the knowledge and skills of a team of farriers, veterinarians and specialist equine surgeons to provide dedicated, expert care for horses with lower limb and hoof problems. In order to achieve the highest quality of diagnostic and therapeutic care possible, a team was assembled from across the world. Combined with the talents of Scone Equine Hospital, this international group

of experts prides itself on offering the most innovative and effective solutions for you and your horse's needs. We also offer an onsite Farrier Supply Shop specialising in therapeutic hoof care products.

Speaker line-up for the 2026 Vet & Farrier Symposium 🎤

We will hear from Dr Scott Morrison, Wayne ‘Link’ Baumann, Dr Brodie Argue, Dr Lucy Cudmore, and George Hunt, covering a wide range of topics across laminitis, metabolic disease, diagnostic imaging, farriery and rehabilitation.

Highlights include sessions on:
• Laminitis, its history and evolving treatment approaches
• EMS, PPID and their link to laminitic cases
• Diagnostic imaging for distal limb lameness
• Hoof wall injuries and infections
• Casting techniques and rehabilitation strategies
• Shoeing options for complex distal limb injuries

The day will finish with a panel discussion bringing everything together through real case studies and shared vet, farrier and client perspectives.

Unfortunately, we have had to cancel the International Heavy Horse Farrier Competition scheduled to be held at White Park on 11–12 June.

❌ While this decision is regrettable, we have not received an adequate number of team entries and therefore have made the difficult decision not to proceed with the event.

✅ The good news is that the two-day Vet Farrier Symposium on 13–14 June will still proceed as planned, and we look forward to welcoming attendees for an outstanding educational weekend celebrating equine podiatry in the Upper Hunter.
