Sirromet parkrun

Sirromet parkrun Sirromet parkrun is a FREE, timed, weekly 5km event for runners and walkers of all fitness levels. The great thing is that you only ever need to do this once!

parkrun is not a race against other runners, but a 5km timed run, jog or walk. It can really be whatever you want it to be, whether that's for fun or as part of a training plan. Sirromet parkrun offers an opportunity for all members of our local community, male or female, young or old, to come together on a regular basis to enjoy the grounds of the beautiful Sirromet Winery and get physically acti

ve in the process. We want to encourage people to walk, jog or run together irrespective of their ability โ€“ this event is truly open to all and best of all it really is FREE! Taking part is easy โ€“ just register in advance by 6pm on the Friday before your first ever parkrun event. Then just set your alarm for Saturday morning and get yourself there! Please Note:
- Sirromet parkrun is not pram friendly.
- Dogs/pets are not permitted on the grounds
- No food or drink is to be brought onto the property, excluding bottled water.

Our volunteer roster is looking good for this week but if we can get 1 more tail walker that would be awesome. Drop us a DM, reply to this post or email [email protected]

Thank you and have a great rest of the week.

Hey parkrunners,

Another great morning at Sirromet parkrun done & dusted.
We had 37 runners & walkers out on course this morning, and great to see a couple of last weeks first timers back again.
First place was taken by Martin McGill in 22.21, and our first female home was Heidi Van Zyl in 25.01. We had 8 first timers to Sirromet parkrun, and 9 personal bests - congrats to everybody.
Our course is in possibly the best condition its ever been, and the weather is great for running fast times, so if youve been thinking about coming to Sirromet parkrun, we would love to see you next week.
Thanks to our awesome volunteers today - without vollies parkrun doesn't happen, so thanks to Candace, Pete & Sue, Linda, Liam, & Steve & Mitsi. Our roster next week needs some names so please jump onto our website - https://www.parkrun.com.au/sirromet/futureroster/ to check out what roles are available, then send us a message to get your name down. All of the roles are really easy and we will help you, so please do your bit for parkrun.
Now that the Harry Potter Experience has started at Sirromet there may be some disruption to access & carparking etc, but we still intend to hold parkrun every week, so please still come along. If there are any issues we will let you know here on Facebook as early as possible.
Well thats it from us, see you all again next Saturday.

RD Ian

Here is the volunteer roster for the next few weeks. If you'd like to volunteer at a future event please email [email protected]. To find out more, visit the volunteer page.

Hey parkrunners,

Yes its hump day again, which means that parkrunday is not too many more sleeps away. We are looking forward to seeing you this Saturday morning at Sirromet Winery for Sirromet parkrun - the best parkrun in Mt Cotton!
Please arrive early enough for the run brief at 6.50am, then we start at 7am. The weather is looking good and our course is in great condition, so you have no reason not to come along to see the rolling Sirromet hills in all their finery.
We have a full vollie roster for your run / walk pleasure, our thanks go out to Candace, Pete & Sue, Linda, Steve & Liam. Without your help we couldnt do it, so from all parkrunners - Thanks.
Our roster next week (28th) only has the RD filled and no one else, so we need to get some names on the roster board, otherwise we wont be happening. If everyone volunteers a handful of times per year it means that everyone takes their turn, and reduces the load on the regulars.
Just a reminder that dogs are not permitted at Sirromet Winery due to the wildlife, and you are welcome to stay around for coffee or breakfast afterwards.
Look forward to seeing you on Saturday.

Hey parkrunners,

Well thats another great morning at Sirromet parkrun done & dusted.
The temperature was cool but we made up for it, and everyone enjoyed their run or walk, including the last hill.
We had 24 participants, with Zhenlei Gao doing her 1st ever parkrun, we hope you enjoyed it and will be back for more. We recorded 3 pb's, and had 10 first timers to Sirromet parkrun.
First home was Steve Ryles in 22.27, and first female home was Heidi Van Zyl (in 3rd place). Congratulations to you all.
Thanks to our volunteers this morning - Glenda, Graham, Alan, Jen, Liam, Simon, & Rachel - we couldn't do it without you so thanks very much.
Our roster next week is full, but after that the roster is quite bare, so if you can, please put your name down. If you haven't volunteered in a while please help out, if everyone does their bit we all benefit. Dont leave it to everyone else.
Thanks to parkruns sponsors - without the sponsors we couldn't put parkrun on so if you can support them please do - Medibank, Athletes Foot, Lorna Jane, Brooks, Polar, & Snap Fitness.
Photos are up (apology's if i missed you, fingers were too cold on the camera!). Have a good week & we will see you back at Sirromet parkrun next week.

Hey parkrunners,

Well it seems winter is here, and what's the best way to warm up?
Yup, its to come along to Sirromet parkrun this Saturday morning for your weekly 5km parkrun hit, followed by a hot coffee at the cellar door.
Our course is in great condition, and we have a full vollie roster (thanks Glenda & Graham, Jen & Alan, Simon, Rachel, & Meagan, you guys are awesome). So come along for our run brief at 6.50am followed by the start at 7am.
If you don't want to run, that's totally fine, you are welcome to walk the rolling Sirromet Winery hills with our resident wallaby's. Note because of the wildlife, dogs are not permitted at Sirromet so please leave Fido at home.
We also have a full volunteer roster for the 21st, but it is quite bare after that, so if you can help out please shout out.

See you on parkrunday (the day uninitiated people call Saturday)

35 runners and walkers took on the Sirromet hills this morning. Steve Ryles was the first finisher across the line in a time of 21:35 & Candace Gilbert was the first female running 23.31, and also taking 40 seconds off her PB. Congrats both. Of the 35 participants, we had 14 first timers & 6 PBs!

A big thanks as always to our volunteers. Thanks so much to Rosemaree, Jude, Pete, Juanita & Ian! If you're looking to get involved & volunteer soon, there are plenty of options for the 21st & 28th June.

Thanks to everyone who attended event #385 this morning. We had a field of 24 runners and walkers who were able to enjoy the beautiful morning on the Sirromet hills and thankfully we dodged any rain!!

Of the 24, we had 6 first timers & 1 PB - congrats to Candace who slashed 1 second off her best! Steve Ryles came home in first with a time of 21.51.

We also celebrated the 250th milestone of one of our regular volunteers, Linda Ripper. This is a huge milestone & we were so pleased to share this with her, enjoying cake & balloons with plenty of photos to see below.

As well as Linda, we also had the great help of Paula, Ian, Kylie, Merilyn & Peter. A reminder that there are plenty of volunteer roster positions to fill over the following weeks, so please let us know below if you can help out.

That's all from us, have a great week & enjoy the photos below.

Hey parkrunners,

Are you counting down the hours until Sirromet parkrun? - well you're not alone!
It might be a bit damp tomorrow, but it wont dampen our enthusiasm - because unless you've been living under a rock you would know that tomorrow is Linda's 250th volunteer, and we plan to make the most of it. So come along and join with us as we celebrate with her.
We will do a run brief at 6.50am before getting started at 7am sharp. You are welcome to stay around for coffee & cake afterwards, but please leave your dog at home as pets are not permitted at Sirromet Winery.
Look forward to seeing you in the morning.....

RD Liam.

Hey there, parkrunners!

This week is a very special week - Linda Ripper, one of our legendary volunteers will be completing her 250th volunteer milestone this weekend. We are putting on all the milestone celebrations, and if you want to join us, wear the colour green or your 250 milestone shirt! It would be great to get a good turnout to celebrate the occasion, so we will hope to see you there.

On that note, thanks to our volunteers for this week - Linda, Merilyn, Ian, Kylie & Paula. We still have plenty of positions open for future weekends. If anyone is interested; let us know below!

Kind reminder that dogs are not permitted at Sirromet.
Look forward to seeing everyone at 6.50am for run brief.
