Poodles don't shed like other dogs, and it changes everything about their care.
That signature coat is hair, not fur, and just like ours it never stops growing.
Instead of dropping loose hair around your home, a poodle's curls hold onto it, which is lovely for shedding and tricky for matting. Left too long, those trapped strands quietly knot underneath.
The fix is simple: a professional groom every four to six weeks, regular brushing down to the skin in between, and a hand-scissored finish to shape those soft curls.
Low-shedding, yes. Low-maintenance, never. But that coat is worth every single minute.
