Whilst most of Queensland is experiencing historical all time floods, and northern NSW is benefitting from a wonderful Autumn break, Milong is still waiting for their turn for a favourable weather change.These pictures don’t include sugarcoated landscapes but the current situation at Milong.Nonetheless cattle in the photos are doing very well under current circumstances.The young bulls brought up into the yards are quiet, settled, and in good condition.Today was a day of health checks, as well as feeding , fencing, and maintenance.The wheel at ‘Milong’ is always turning, hopefully one day in the mud!

Part of the day-to-day operations at “Milong”involves all hands on deck. This week saw the annual young sale bulls brought to the yards at Milong. Key to Milong, and unique to guaranteeing well-handled stock, is the utilisation of horses in day-to-day work. The young bulls are well-adjusted to coming into yards, and temperament is paramount. Shorty, Darc and Soph are on deck today weighing bulls, considering the very dry drought like conditions the young bulls are in excellent condition.
Hopefully autumn break soon.

"Jandera" Book Book
Property in exceptional condition for this time of year.
Abundant feed and water available.
Pregnancy testing and weaning have been undertaken, with weaners returning to "Panuara".
Cattle are thriving, with a high percentage in calf, and weaners are in outstanding condition.

Australia Day holiday still means work
has to be done at “Milong”.
William and Darc spend a day in the yards, sorting cows and calves.
With the threat of a storm to the north, the days have been hot and unseasonably windy, but this is summer.
The cattle look fantastic, not long until weaning and branding.

William and Darcy have been busy delivering bulls, their latest adventure has taken them up to Upper Horton then to Prairie and dropped the last couple of bulls up at Hughenden.

As always William is the best travel companion.
