Has your dog got smelly breath? We might have the answer! 🤢🦷

Dental disease, otherwise known as periodontal disease, involves plaque and then tartar build up on the teeth which can lead to inflammation of the gums. Dental disease affects approximately 80% of dogs over the age of three and can cause smelly breath, oral pain and tooth decay or loss.

Things such as diet, dental chews and at home tooth brushing can help to slow the build up of plaque. However, once the plaque or tartar is there, we can perform a clean with a special dental machine under general anaesthetic to remove it. This is a very specialised procedure that can only be performed by your vet! 🪥🦷

Our vets are able to examine your pets mouth and have a chat to you about treating and managing dental disease!
