We need to be really honest with you all.

Right now, we are being absolutely flooded with surrender and rehoming requests. And not just “change of mind” situations, these are genuine cases where people can no longer keep their animals and are reaching out for help.

The hardest part is… we can’t say yes.

Not because we don’t want to. Not because the animals don’t deserve help. But because we simply do not have enough foster carers.

We haven’t seen it this bad in a long time, and it’s only getting worse.

Our admin team is tired. The people behind the scenes trying to coordinate everything are stretched.

Our existing foster carers, who are doing an incredible job, are starting to burn out.

Fostering is what allows us to exist. Without foster homes, we cannot take animals in. It’s that simple.
We are desperately asking, if you have ever thought about fostering, now is the time.

All you need is a secure yard, a safe home, and the ability to give an animal a place to land while we do the work to find them their forever home.

There is no cost to you.

All food, supplies and vet work are covered by SARG.

This is exactly why we fundraise, so we can support both the animals and the people who open their homes to them.

However, our emergency service will be available from 8:30am – 5:00pm for urgent cases on 0455 855 400.
If your pet requires emergency care during these hours, please contact us and our team will assist you.
We will reopen as normal the following day.

We are proud to share that our veterinary team has recently completed additional ultrasound training with the very knowledgeable Dr Lisa Weldon GP Vet Support to further enhance the level of care we provide to your pets.

Ultrasound is an incredible diagnostic tool that allows us to:
✔️ Assess pregnancies
✔️ Examine abdominal organs
✔️ Investigate lameness and soft tissue injuries
✔️ Detect issues earlier and more accurately

By continuing to upskill and invest in advanced training, we’re ensuring our patients receive the highest standard of care right here at our clinic.

With temperatures soaring this week, our pets need extra care to stay safe and comfortable.

• Always provide fresh, cool water
• Keep pets indoors or in shaded areas during peak heat
• Avoid walking dogs on hot pavement – if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for paws
• Walk pets early morning or late evening
• Never leave pets in parked cars, even for a minute
• Watch for signs of heatstroke: heavy panting, drooling, lethargy, vomiting. Let’s keep our furry friends safe this summer ❤️

After managing the Benetook Veterinary Clinic for some 4 years, Emily, Ashleigh and Ealasaid have now become the new owners.
Emily, Ashleigh and Ealasaid began working for original owner William Sutherland back in 2012, fresh out of high school and University. Moving forward 13 years their love, passion and dedication to the industry has resulted in them now owning the very business that they began their careers in.
