Next time you visit us, keep an eye out for the lovely Ilene! Her journey to Talking Hens started all the way across the world in Cape Town, South Africa.
Ilene’s mum grew up on a massive sheep farm, meaning her childhood home was always full of animals, including a happy flock of chooks and even orphaned wildlife like meerkats and deer!

She never actually planned on moving to Australia, but fate stepped in when she met her husband (a surfer from Langwarrin) while visiting the UK. Fast forward 30 years later, they have two beautiful kids and are still happily together!

Two fun facts about Ilene:
🗣️ She is completely bilingual, and her first language is Afrikaans!
🐔 She always knew she’d have her own flock one day, and now loves helping you care for yours.
