When the cat is away, the mouse’s….. clean!

It’s been a little quiet online lately — not because we disappeared, but because we’ve been up to our elbows in cleaning, organizing, and getting things just right behind the scenes 🧽🧼.

Big shoutout to the amazing Meraki team! 🙌 Thank you all so much for your incredible support while Yvon was away on a well deserved holiday💃🏼🌴🌸. I honestly couldn’t have done it without you — your teamwork, dedication, and positive energy made all the difference. Grateful to be part of such a solid crew! 💜

And let’s not forget, this team is entirely made up out of volunteers!!!!⭐️

Yesterday it was offical, and today I caught this beautiful shot from Bella and “her Odie” 💙💕

Last week Odie’s owner came to me with the news that she was planning on taking Odie to her property (that’s currently being build) by the end of the year.
She was quite upset about having to break Bella’s heart whilst taking him away from Meraki…. 😥
So we had a good chat together and that night, I decided to buy Odie for the riding school. 💙
That way she won’t loose him!

Bella has put so much love, time and hard work into Odie and he’s helped so much to become the beautiful rider she is today! They won their class at the Malanda show 🥇!!!!!
I couldn’t get it over my heart to seperate the two!!!! 💔

So welcome to the Meraki Family Odie !! 💙💙💙

2 miniature donkeys

Pumba: the one with the blue striped halter,
Born on 20-11-22
He is the more quiet one out of the two

Timone: the one with the blue halter
Born on 3-8-22
He is a little more unsure than Pumba

Both donkeys have been in the paddock with horses, halter lead (most of the time) 🤣
They are very friendly and kind, been handled by kids (with super vision) 💙
Been washed, brushed and cuddled with.
Can pick hooves, hind legs are a little harder to do.
Been trimmed in the past by farrier.
Been wormed.

Prefer them to go together, and best of homes only!!!! We just don’t have enough time to give them the attention that they crave so much!

A Love of Horses

Yvon has been riding for over 30 years and has been specialising in dressage for most of her riding career. Yvon began riding in Holland and has worked for many Grand Prix Dressage riders across Europe and more recently in Australia.

This passion for horses has led Yvon to establish Blue Gum Riding School in the stunning Atherton Tablelands in Far North Queensland. A family friendly centre, our aim is to encourage all ages and abilities to help you achieve your riding goals, whether that be to high level competition or building your confidence or improving your relationship with your horse.
