🐶 DID YOU KNOW? SKIN PROBLEMS ARE A COMMON REASON FOR VET VISITS! 🩺

Skin issues can be more than just a little itch. Signs to watch for include:

🐾 Persistent scratching or licking
🔴 Red, irritated or inflamed skin
🦠 Recurrent skin or ear infections
🧴 Flaky, greasy or unusual-smelling skin
🐕 Hair loss or bald patches
⚠️ Sores, scabs or changes in the skin

Skin problems can have many different causes, including allergies, parasites, infections and underlying medical conditions. Because these conditions can look very similar, finding the underlying cause is an important part of effective treatment.

💡 Don't ignore persistent itching! If your dog is frequently scratching, licking or developing changes to their skin, it's worth having them checked by your veterinarian.

A healthy skin barrier means a happier, more comfortable pup! ❤️🐾

🚨 TICK PARALYSIS: KNOW THE WARNING SIGNS 🐾

Did you know, we see dogs and cats presenting with tick paralysis all year round.
Tick paralysis can develop quickly in dogs and cats and may become life-threatening without prompt veterinary treatment.

Keep an eye out for:
🐾 Weakness, especially in the hind legs
😴 Lethargy or unusual tiredness
🗣️ A raspy bark or meow
🫁 Difficulty breathing
👅 Trouble swallowing or blinking
⚠️ Progression to full paralysis

Early detection can make a huge difference. If your pet develops any of these signs, call us as soon as possible for further instruction

🔎 Tip: Regularly check your pet for ticks, particularly after spending time outdoors, and keep up with an effective tick prevention plan recommended by your veterinarian.
